From April 27 to May 3, 2024, Ship KN 390 took working group No. 13 "Journey for the sea and islands of the homeland" in 2024 with the theme "I love my Fatherland" to visit and encourage the army and people of Truong Sa island district ( Khanh Hoa province) and DK1 platform on the southern continental shelf of the Fatherland.
Rear Admiral Pham Van Quang, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of the Navy, led the delegation. The delegation included Comrade Nguyen Pham Duy Trang, Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Chairman of the Central Council of the Young Pioneers, and more than 200 delegates from the Central Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; Lang Son province, Quang Tri province, and a number of agencies, organizations, enterprises, and reporters from central and local press agencies. On this occasion, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong, on behalf of the officials and people of the province, donated 1 billion VND to support the program to make Truong Sa greener.

During the working trip, the delegation visited, encouraged, and exchanged cultural performances with the military and people on 7 islands: Song Tu Tay, Da Thi, Sinh Ton Dong, An Bang, Da Dong B, Da Tay A, Truong Sa and DKI/8 - Que Duong platform.
At the visiting points, the delegation gave many practical and meaningful gifts such as: TVs, bicycles, rechargeable fans, cash, necessities... Thereby, expressing the sentiments of working group No. 13 in 2024 with the desire to encourage and share difficulties with the army and people of Truong Sa island district and DK1 platform.
Participating in the voyage to the sea and islands of the homeland, the delegates also listened to the commanders of the islands and DK1/8 - Que Duong Platform report on the results of the implementation of the tasks and expressed their feelings and gratitude for the deep concern of the Party, State, central and local agencies, socio-political organizations, and enterprises for the army and people on Truong Sa island district and DK1/8 - Que Duong Platform.

The delegation also offered incense at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House, the Martyrs' Memorial and attended the flag-raising ceremony on Truong Sa Island; offered incense at the Monument of National Duke, Commander-in-Chief, Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan on Song Tu Tay Island; burned incense at pagodas on the island; held a memorial ceremony and offered incense to officers and soldiers who heroically fought and sacrificed to protect the sovereignty of the sea and Truong Sa Island...

At the closing ceremony of the voyage “For the sea and islands of the homeland”, Rear Admiral Pham Van Quang, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of the Navy, emphasized that the working trip helped the delegates deeply feel the life, study and training of officers, soldiers and people in Truong Sa island district and DK1 platform. He believed that after the working trip, each delegate would be an active propagandist spreading love and responsibility for the sea and islands of the Fatherland to all classes of people across the country.

On this occasion, the Navy Command also awarded the Medal for the Cause of Protecting Sea and Island Sovereignty and the Truong Sa Soldier Badge to more than 200 delegates participating in Working Group No. 13 in 2024.
