From December 14th to 16th, a delegation of artisans from Gia Lai province participated in activities at the Vietnamese Ethnic Cultures Festival held in Quang Tri province.

The festival, themed "Preserving and promoting the cultural identity of Vietnamese ethnic groups for equality, solidarity, respect, integration, and development for a peaceful world," brought together 16 provinces and cities.
The Nhet delegation made a strong impression at the festival with their spectacular performance, recreating the cultural space of the Central Highlands' gong music during the opening night with the theme "Colors Converge".
The delegation also participated in the main activities within the framework of the festival, such as performing folk songs, folk dances, and traditional musical instruments with performances including: instrumental ensemble "Gia Lai Enters the Festival" (orchestrated by the distinguished artisan Rơ Châm Tih), solo performance "My Child, Don't Cry" (Jrai folk song), male-female duet "You Are as Beautiful as a Pơ Lang Flower" (composed by Phi Ưng), and male trio performance "Bringing Water to the Village" (Jrai folk song). The Gia Lai provincial artisan delegation also showcased and introduced the traditional male and female costumes of the Jrai and Bahnar ethnic groups; and reenacted the ceremony of consecrating a new communal house of the Jrai people…

The Vietnamese Ethnic Groups Cultural Festival features many activities such as: folk art performances, traditional costume shows, presentations of excerpts from festivals and traditional cultural rituals of various ethnic groups. Alongside these are exhibitions, presentations, and promotion of traditional culture; demonstrations, preparation, and introductions of unique ethnic cuisine from different localities; and sports and folk games such as stick pushing, tug-of-war, and crossbow shooting.
The festival also included a photo exhibition with the theme "Vietnamese ethnic minorities accompanying the development of the country" and an exhibition "The colorful cultures of Vietnamese ethnic groups"...
The event aims to honor the traditional cultural values of the ethnic communities of Vietnam across the country; and to celebrate the intelligence and creativity of these communities in preserving and promoting their cultural identity.
