Speaking at the event, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc highly appreciated VCCI's initiative in building the Index and organizing the Program for Evaluating and Announcing Sustainable Enterprises in Vietnam (CSI) continuously over the past 10 years.
Emphasizing the role of the business community in contributing to the country's rapid and sustainable development, the Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that businesses need to transform their business thinking from the top leadership to each department; be persistent and creative in building strategies, practicing and applying responsible and sustainable business models to create competitive advantages and resilience for their own businesses in the global marketplace.
The Deputy Prime Minister also recommended that businesses need to proactively improve corporate governance, information transparency and accountability through applying the CSI Index to expand access to green capital; at the same time, promptly take advantage of new opportunities from green market trends and responsible consumption, thereby helping businesses expand their markets and create sustainable competitive advantages.

Also at the announcement ceremony, Chairman of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry , Head of the CSI 2025 Steering Committee Ho Sy Hung said that up to now, in the long journey of Vietnamese enterprises, the story of "development" and "responsibility" has never been as closely linked as it is now. After the first 10-year journey, the CSI Program will turn a new page of development, being raised to a new level.
According to Mr. Ho Sy Hung, VCCI will not only evaluate businesses but will also accompany, encourage, lead and connect; so that CSI becomes an ecosystem that promotes sustainable transformation of national businesses. VCCI aims to transform CSI into a driving force for creation - where businesses are not only recognized with titles, but also together shape the future of Vietnam's green economic development.
The CSI Corporate Sustainability Index, launched in 20216, is a tool to support sustainable corporate governance practices, and is also the first index in Vietnam to assess corporate sustainability on four pillars: economic - environmental - social - governance. This is an important basis for the Program Steering Committee, with the participation of central ministries and branches, including the Ministry of Finance participating this year, to assess the level of responsible business practices.
responsibilities of businesses.

In 2025, the CSI Program attracted more than 500 enterprises nationwide to submit applications, and the Organizing Committee selected 147 applications for official evaluation. Notably, participating in the Program this year, more than 20% of enterprises participated for the first time, along with about 30% of enterprises listed on different stock exchanges in Vietnam.
A highlight is that CSI 2025 builds a set of indexes specifically for small and micro enterprises - in addition to medium and large enterprises as in previous years, creating a premise to spread sustainable development to the business sector that accounts for a large proportion of the national business structure.
Another notable new feature is that the Organizing Committee also incorporates technology into the application submission and scoring software, applying AI to the Program to innovate the implementation method, creating more favorable conditions for businesses when learning about the content of the CSI Index, as well as carrying out the steps to submit their application.
These efforts of the CSI 2025 Program also reflect the spirit of Resolution 68-NQ/TW on private economic development and Resolution 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation.
