VCCI Chairman, Head of CSI 2025 Steering Committee Ho Sy Hung delivered the opening speech at the announcement ceremony.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the announcement ceremony, VCCI Chairman and Head of the CSI 2025 Steering Committee Ho Sy Hung shared that, up to now, in the long journey of Vietnamese enterprises, the story of "development" and "responsibility" has never been as closely linked as it is now. The world is changing strongly in the face of increasingly severe impacts of climate change. We have no other choice but to innovate, to green ourselves, to consider sustainable development not just a slogan, but a survival strategy. That means businesses need to prepare earlier and more actively, from investment strategy, operation, risk management to business model innovation. This is the "breakthrough point" in development thinking: either we change, or we are left behind. Pioneering businesses will not only adapt but also lead the new game - a game whose value lies in responsibility and steadfastness towards a sustainable future.

According to Mr. Hung, closing the first ten-year journey, opening a new development page, the CSI Program will be raised to a new level. “Not only evaluating businesses, VCCI will accompany, encourage, lead and connect; so that CSI becomes an ecosystem promoting sustainable transformation of national enterprises. From a program to recognize achievements, we aim to transform CSI into a driving force for creation - where businesses are not only recognized with titles, but also together shape the future of Vietnam's green economic development,” said Mr. Hung.

Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc spoke at the announcement ceremony.

The 2025 announcement ceremony marked the 10-year journey of the CSI Program. On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc presented a beautiful flower basket to the representatives of VCCI and the Program Steering Committee, symbolizing the recognition of VCCI's efforts - in the role of the Program's host agency and the coordination of the Departments and ministries in promoting sustainable business development through CSI.

Speaking at the event, the Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the initiative of VCCI in building the Index and organizing the CSI Program for the past 10 consecutive years. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that from the perspective of the business community's contribution to the country's rapid and sustainable development, businesses need to: transform business thinking from the highest leadership to each department; be persistent and creative in building strategies, practicing and applying responsible and sustainable business models to create competitive advantages and resilience for businesses in the global market; proactively improve corporate governance, make information transparent and implement accountability through applying the CSI Index to expand access to green capital; and promptly take advantage of new opportunities from the green market trend and responsible consumption, thereby helping businesses expand their markets and create sustainable competitive advantages.

Celebrating the 10-year journey, the Announcement Ceremony is also an opportunity for the Program Organizing Committee to express gratitude to the Evaluation Council - the "judges" who have been with the Program for many years, and especially to award the "CSI Star" Cup to 11 outstanding enterprises that have been recognized in the Top 10 Sustainable Enterprises of the CSI Program for 5 consecutive years or more. This achievement not only demonstrates the stability in strategy, but also affirms the strong determination of enterprises in pursuing a sustainable development model (PTBV).

In 2025, the CSI Program attracted more than 500 enterprises nationwide, from different types and sizes of enterprises to submit applications, through which the Organizing Committee pre-screened and selected 147 applications for official evaluation. Notably, participating in the Program this year, more than 20% were enterprises participating for the first time, about 30% were enterprises listed on different stock exchanges in Vietnam - the largest number of listed enterprises ever in the Program; at the same time, the Program also received the attention of many units of the Group, General Corporation, especially the State-owned enterprise Group. This shows that the spread of CSI is increasingly widespread in the domestic business community.

With CSI 2025 building and releasing the first version of the index specifically for small and micro enterprises - in addition to the version for medium and large enterprises as in previous years, the Program has attracted active participation and for the first time, small and micro enterprises were recognized in the Top 100 Sustainable Enterprises - creating a premise to spread PTBV to the type of enterprise that accounts for a large proportion in the national enterprise structure. Another notable new point is that the Organizing Committee also introduced technology elements in the application submission and scoring software, applying artificial intelligence (AI) to the Program to innovate the implementation method, creating more favorable conditions for enterprises when learning about the content of the CSI Index, as well as taking steps to submit applications. These efforts of the CSI 2025 Program also reflect the spirit of Resolution 68 on private economic development and Resolution 57 on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation.

The CSI 2025 announcement ceremony honored 100 outstanding sustainable enterprises in both the manufacturing and trade-service sectors. Of which, the Top 10 sustainable enterprises in these two sectors recorded a rate of 60% domestic enterprises and 40% foreign-invested enterprises. This shows that domestic enterprises have made great strides and the "game" of sustainable development is no longer only for FDI enterprises with good governance foundations.

In addition to praising the main category of Sustainable Enterprises, the Program also evaluates and selects pioneering enterprises that have performed well in two specialized categories: implementing circular economy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions; and implementing good corporate governance. These are contents that are receiving much attention and priority actions from the global business community when pursuing sustainable business.

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Mr. Binu Jacob, Co-Chairman of VBCSD and General Director of Nestlé Vietnam, said that the important resolutions that have just been issued have set a great aspiration for Vietnam to become a developed country, a pioneer in sustainable and inclusive development in the new era.

True sustainable development requires an ecosystem where all businesses – big or small – can thrive. The newly issued strategic resolutions have emphasized promoting innovation and capacity building across all sectors, especially the private sector and the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) community. “At Nestlé Vietnam, as a leading FDI enterprise, we are committed to sharing knowledge, innovating, sourcing responsibly, pioneering climate action and developing talent across the value chain. By collaborating with and supporting SMEs, we contribute to creating a ripple effect – helping more businesses approach sustainability as a way to improve their resilience and competitiveness in the new era,” Mr. Binu Jacob emphasized.

As the 8th enterprise to be in the Top 10 Sustainable Enterprises of Vietnam, receiving the CSI Star Award, Ms. Dao Thuy Ha, General Director of Traphaco Joint Stock Company, said that currently, the company owns 4 GMP-WHO factories, 11 medicinal herb areas meeting GACP-WHO standards, a strong distribution system nationwide, research and development capacity is improved through international cooperation and technology transfer; many products have achieved National Brand, leading the market such as Boganic, Hoat Huyet Duong Nao, Tottri.

Over the years, Traphaco has been steadfast in its sustainable development strategy guided by a transparent management system, building a closed value chain - controlling quality from input materials to finished products. This is the foundation that helps Traphaco overcome challenges, creating growth even in periods of strong market fluctuations such as the COVID-19 period, or in 2025 when the State strengthens inspections and tightens quality regulations.

Ms. Ha said that in 2025, Traphaco is estimated to achieve a 9.7% revenue growth, exceeding the plan by more than 40 billion; after-tax profit reached 103% of the plan. The enterprise continues to promote innovation, digital transformation and extensive AI application, implementing rapid restructuring and open vision.

Also at the announcement ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh, Vice President of VCCI, President of VBCSD, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee of the CSI 2025 Program said that in the coming time, VCCI will promote activities to accompany, support and promote sustainable business for enterprises in accordance with the spirit of Resolution 68, Resolution 57, Resolution 70 on ensuring energy security, etc. In particular, CSI will be an important tool channel that is prioritized for expansion to strengthen the internal strength of enterprises, as well as create more added value for the domestic business community. Mr. Vinh also shared that continuing the annual tradition of the CSI Club, right before the Announcement Ceremony, on the morning of December 5, VBCSD-VCCI coordinated with Nestlé Vietnam and WWF-Vietnam to organize a meeting and share on the topic "Electrification in production - Solutions to reduce carbon emissions towards the goal of Net Zero 2050", continuing to receive the response and high appreciation of businesses in the CSI Program when bringing a lot of updated and useful information to businesses.
