Innovation in political and ideological work to meet practical requirements

Political and ideological work is identified as the root and core of Party building work, creating ideological foundation, mettle and unity within the Party, and consensus in society.

Faced with the current reality of national development, proactively innovating in thinking, content and methods of conducting political and ideological work is an inevitable requirement, contributing to strengthening people's trust in the Party.

Fundamental shift in thinking and implementation

On the basis of firmly maintaining Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh's thought and the Party's guidelines, political and ideological work in recent times has had a fundamental shift in thinking and methods of organization and implementation, shifting from the "communication" approach to "guidance", from one-way to "oriented multi-dimensional", focusing on persuasion, effectiveness and dissemination.

The content of studying and thoroughly grasping the Party's resolutions and directives; the propaganda content has been innovated to be concise, easy to understand, easy to remember, easy to spread. Propaganda methods on digital platforms, propaganda using technology-integrated products (short videos , infographics, podcasts...), providing official information quickly and convincingly... show a clear change.

From the efforts of innovation, political and ideological work is no longer a formal activity but has become a real driving force, promoting the actions of cadres and party members.

In many units and localities, political and ideological work is organized and implemented by Party committees in a practical manner, closely following reality, linked to the tasks of Party building and socio-economic development. In Quang Ninh, the Provincial Party Committee identified ideological work as a regular and key task, linked to the practical development requirements of the locality.

Comrade Nguyen Hong Duong, member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee, informed that the Provincial Party Committee has implemented systematic, scientific and focused methods: Studying and thoroughly grasping the resolution in a concise and practical manner, linked to the specific tasks of each level and each sector. In particular, the thematic activity model "Party Cell 35" is a new feature, piloted from the third quarter of 2024, has brought about positive effects, becoming an important channel to grasp public opinion and refute false and hostile information.

The content of the thematic activity "Party Cell 35" closely follows the requirements of the thematic activity steps according to the guidance of the Central Organizing Committee on a number of issues on improving the quality of Party cell activities, focusing on two groups of content: protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against bad, toxic information, wrong and hostile viewpoints, in which special attention is paid to combining "building and fighting", in which "building" is the main thing, "fighting" is important and urgent. The pilot thematic activity "Party Cell 35" has contributed to innovation and improving the quality of political and ideological activities, creating unity in the awareness and actions of Party committees, Party organizations at all levels, cadres and Party members in strictly implementing revolutionary ethical standards in the new period.

Promoting the exemplary role of cadres and party members

Reality recorded in many localities shows that the outstanding bright spot in the innovation of political and ideological work in many Party committees and organizations is to strengthen the exemplary role of cadres and Party members, especially leaders. Exemplary cadres who are close to the people, respect the people, and are devoted to the people; advanced models in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style; good models, creative ways of serving the people... are promptly propagated, creating a strong spread in society.

In Lam Dong, with the locality in the process of strong transformation to become one of the dynamic growth poles of the South Central region, the Provincial Party Committee always identifies Party building work, especially promoting the exemplary role of cadres and party members as one of the key and continuous tasks. The sense of responsibility and exemplary role are institutionalized into specific criteria, as part of the work of evaluating, classifying, planning and appointing cadres.

In the work of leading and directing the implementation of tasks, the sense of responsibility and setting an example is most clearly demonstrated in the attitude and working style of the leaders. Party secretaries and chairmen of people's committees at all levels have directly dialogued with the people, promptly resolved suggestions and concerns at the grassroots level, proactively corrected working style, discipline, administrative discipline, promoted administrative procedure reform, and linked personal responsibility with work efficiency. Thanks to that, the responsibility and setting an example of the leaders of Party committees at all levels have been increasingly demonstrated more clearly, promoting the role of the Party committee as a center of solidarity and gathering.

However, according to comrade Vo Thanh Binh, member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee, the reality in Lam Dong is posing a number of issues that need continued attention, such as: A number of cadres and party members have inadequate awareness and lack of self-awareness in setting an example; the exemplary responsibility of some leaders is not really clear; Party cell activities sometimes lack fighting spirit...

In response to these issues, Comrade Vo Thanh Binh added that promoting the spirit of responsibility and setting an example needs to be approached in a new direction, as a system of leadership values ​​and culture, maintained regularly, consistently and with a transparent monitoring and evaluation mechanism. At the same time, the requirement for Lam Dong cadres and party members is to be "both red and professional", ready to innovate, be creative and act for the common good.

The efforts to innovate in political and ideological work reflect a new spirit: Innovation throughout the content and the method of communication; at the same time, innovation is to make political and ideological work truly the "strong bond" connecting the Party's will and the people's hearts. Political and ideological work then both contributes to consolidating the Party's ideological foundation and becomes a strong spiritual driving force for the country's development in the new period.
