Providing advice and answering questions about student health insurance policies for students of Nam Can Tho University on the occasion of the freshman welcoming day.
Diverse forms of communication
Dozens of banners promoting health insurance were hung at the gates of schools throughout the city, creating a beautiful and vibrant image, spreading many meaningful messages, and attracting the attention of parents and students. The city's Social Insurance agency also coordinated with news agencies and newspapers to create news articles, reports, and features promoting the humanitarian significance and practical benefits of the health insurance policy. These emphasized the new aspect of the State subsidizing 50% of the health insurance premium for students, contributing to protecting the health of the younger generation while significantly reducing the financial burden on parents.
The city's Social Insurance agency also promotes the posting of news articles, infographics, short clips, etc., about the student health insurance policy on its electronic portal, fanpage, and Zalo accounts, as well as those of local Social Insurance agencies. At the same time, it encourages officials and employees to regularly share official news articles and images about the benefits and significance of participating in student health insurance on their personal Facebook and Zalo pages.
The city's Social Insurance agency maintains a hotline number to provide quick and effective advice and answers regarding student health insurance policies. In addition, hundreds of announcements about student health insurance policies are broadcast on local radio systems, helping parents and students in all areas stay informed. The city's Social Insurance agency also encourages organizations and individuals to donate health insurance cards to students from disadvantaged backgrounds...
These practical activities not only contribute to raising awareness and responsibility among students and parents regarding participation in health insurance, but also affirm the efforts of the city's Social Insurance agency in accompanying the younger generation for a healthy and sustainable future.
Bridging the gap between policy and education.
For the first time, the city's Social Insurance agency and local Social Insurance agencies have implemented a model of "Booths for disseminating information, providing advice, and answering questions about health insurance policies for students" right within school grounds. The booths are neatly arranged, with tables and chairs for discussion, and computers to assist students and parents in searching for and installing the VssID - Digital Social Insurance application. At the booths, Social Insurance officials, in coordination with the schools, directly advise, answer questions, guide students on their rights and procedures for participating in health insurance, and explain how to use the health insurance card with a chip-embedded citizen ID or image card on the VssID or VNeID application to replace the paper health insurance card when seeking medical treatment.
At the booth at Nam Can Tho University, Truong Nguyen Yen Nhi, a first-year student, was guided on how to install the VssID - Social Insurance digital application to look up her health insurance card. Yen Nhi said: "I find using the Social Insurance digital application much more convenient than using a paper card when going for medical examinations and treatment."
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Quyen from Phu Loi ward, a parent of an 11th-grade student at Hoang Dieu High School, expressed: "Thanks to the booth promoting and advising on health insurance policies on the first day of school, I learned that the government has increased the subsidy for student health insurance contributions from 30% to 50% and I see many benefits from participating in health insurance."
At the booths, the City Social Insurance agency coordinated mini-games with Q&A sessions about health insurance policies, offering small prizes such as pens, notebooks, and keychains. Mr. Quach Thanh Nha, Deputy Director of the Can Tho City Social Insurance agency, shared: “We want health insurance policies to become more accessible and easier to understand for students and parents. The information and consultation booths are not only places to provide information but also a bridge for parents and students to experience and get answers on the spot, while spreading a positive image of health insurance policies for students.”
To date, the entire city has organized 27 booths to disseminate information and provide direct consultation at schools, attracting thousands of parents and students to learn more, contributing to raising awareness, encouraging participation in health insurance among young people, and widely spreading the student health insurance policy to the community.
