Mikelodic and Long Non La recreate a poetic picture of their homeland.
Wishing to paint a picture of his homeland that bears the distinct mark of Vietnam, coach Thai VG gave the theme "Where We Live" to the two contestants Mikelodic and Long Non La in Rap Viet episode 9, season 3.
Both decided to incorporate scenes of their hometowns into their rap songs. For Long Nón Lá, Thái VG hoped the rapper would choose the most authentic depiction of a peaceful countryside, while for Mikelodic, Thái VG wanted him to paint a picture of a bustling city.
Mikelodic collaborated with Long Nón Lá to create a painting of their homeland using two distinct colors: black and pink.
After the performance, Thai VG suggested that Long Non La sing a folk song because every time he heard it, he remembered his father. Fulfilling this request, Long Non La sang a đoạn from "The Mat Seller's Love," much to the delight of the entire audience.
Coach B Ray expressed his admiration: "I really liked this performance and the way you two explored the place where we live. As for Long Nón Lá, I liked how you incorporated folk songs into your rap while still maintaining the hip hop essence."
For Mikelodic, when he listens to your music, he feels a strong connection with you. His favorite line in the song is: "How long does it take for humans to understand that humankind is tiny?"
Judge JustaTee commented: "Long is a very poetic person, while Mikelodic is a very down-to-earth person. Both are close to people facing difficult circumstances in life, and you have successfully brought out both the poetic and the down-to-earth aspects on this stage."
The audience vote gave Long Nón Lá 59 points and Mikelodic 41 points. The judges decided that Mikelodic would advance to the next round along with coach Thái VG, while Long Nón Lá would compete in the 8-bar round.
