Thailand's impressive performance has led to a surge in black market ticket prices for their rematch against South Korea.

The second leg match between Thailand and South Korea will take place at the Rajamangala Stadium, which has a capacity of over 50,000 seats. The Football Association of Thailand (FAT) announced that online ticket sales would begin on March 9th and would continue with traditional ticket sales at the FAT headquarters if tickets remained available. However, just one day after sales opened, all tickets for the second leg match were sold out.

According to Siamsport , this result stems from the positive performance of the Thai national team under coach Masatada Ishii. The "War Elephants" advanced through the group stage of the 2023 Asian Cup and displayed an attractive style of play, living up to the expectations of their fans. Furthermore, since Madam Pang (also known as Nualphan Lamsam) was elected president of the FAT (Football Association of Thailand), Thai fans' confidence in the national team has been immense. After the FAT announced online ticket sales, Madam Pang personally urged fans to come to the stadium and "cheer on" the Thai national team.

Confidence in the Thai national team is now very high.

Thai Ticket Major, the official ticket distributor for FAT, announced that over 50,000 tickets had been sold by March 10th. However, after Thailand's 1-1 draw against South Korea (March 21st), the ticket frenzy continued in Thailand. Fans of the "War Elephants" waited for hours in front of the FAT headquarters hoping to get a ticket to watch the match live, even though tickets were not being sold there.

Seizing this opportunity, the "black market" for tickets has begun operating in Thailand. According to Siamsport, to obtain a ticket to the stadium, fans in Thailand will have to pay 10 times the original price. However, most fans are satisfied and willing to pay to watch the upcoming match.

Siamsport wrote: “Thai Ticket Major has sold out tickets at prices of 165, 295, 395, 560, 700 and 750 baht (equivalent to VND 120,000 to VND 510,000). But recently, a group selling football tickets publicly on Facebook, with about 7,000 members, is pushing prices up tenfold.”

Each ticket now costs around 2,000 to 2,500 baht (approximately 1.3 million to 1.7 million VND), but getting one is almost impossible.

It's expected that even more exorbitantly priced tickets will be released on match day, possibly 20 or 30 times the price of tickets released by the Thai Ticket Major. However, perhaps the passion and belief from our team is simply too great. We've conducted numerous surveys, and they've indicated they're willing to pay large sums to watch the match live.”

Thai fans are willing to pay 10 times the usual amount to watch their team play.

In the first leg match (March 21st), the Thai team drew 1-1 away against South Korea and moved up to second place in Group C with points. Thailand has 4 points, the same as China, but a better goal difference (Thailand has a goal difference of +1, China has a goal difference of -2). Just a few hours after the first leg ended, the Thai team quickly returned home to prepare for the second leg match.

The Thai national team players are very ready for the rematch against South Korea.

On March 22nd, the "War Elephants" completed two training sessions, and all the players were determined to spring a surprise against South Korea. Coach Masatada Ishii confidently stated: "The next match will be at home, and we will deliver a completely different performance. The Thai team has the support of the home fans, which is a huge motivation. What I'm thinking about right now is that Thailand must win against South Korea. We are giving our all for this match and not thinking about anything else."
