In the past few days, many officers and soldiers of Tr'hy Border Post and people of Abaanh II village, Hung Son commune have been present early to support Mr. Po Loong Chat's family in building a new house. For Mr. Chat's family, this is a memorable milestone, full of affection between the army, the people and the neighbors.
Mr. Po Loong Chat, born in 1942, is a Co Tu ethnic, a 4/4 disabled veteran who participated in the resistance war against the US to save the country. Returning to his hometown after the war, he lived in a temporary house that was severely degraded and unsafe, especially during the rainy and stormy season.
Understanding that situation, Tr'hy Border Guard Station mobilized 60 million VND from organizations and individuals to support him in building a new house. In addition to financial support, officers and soldiers also directly participated in building the house, transporting materials, and contributing their efforts with the people.

Along with Mr. Chat, the family of Mr. Po Loong Bi (born in 1994) in Ganil village, Hung Son commune was also supported by the Tr'hy Border Guard Station to build a solid house. Mr. Bi is a poor household, struggling to live in a makeshift house. Thanks to the 'Border Warm Home' program, his family now has a stable place to live, can work with peace of mind, and escape poverty.
Lieutenant Colonel Le Van Thu - Political Commissar of Tr'hy Border Guard Station shared: "Understanding the hardships and disadvantages of people living in the border area, the unit has made efforts to mobilize sponsors to join hands to help people have better living conditions. The house given away is a practical sharing with people in the border area."
Mr. Ta Ngon Thieu - Vice Chairman of Hung Son Commune People's Committee expressed: "The shelters from the program not only help poor households and policy households have conditions to settle down but also demonstrate the solidarity between the army and the people. We thank the officers and soldiers of Tr'hy Border Guard Station for always accompanying the government to take care of people's lives".

Also in Hung Son commune, Ms. Colau Thi Plơọc's family lived for decades in a makeshift house with bamboo walls and thatch walls, and every rainy season, they were worried about the roof collapsing. At the end of 2024, with support of 50 million VND from Tr'hy Border Guard Station and borrowing from relatives, she built a "Border Warm Home" house of 180 square meters, with a corrugated iron roof, brick floor, and traditional Co Tu architecture. In addition, border guards and local youth union members also supported labor days, helping the project to be completed quickly.
Mrs. Ploech said emotionally: “Having a spacious and solid house, my family can live and work in peace. We thank the Party, the State and all levels and sectors for supporting poor people like me to have a solid house.”
According to Lieutenant Colonel Le Van Thu, to effectively implement the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, the unit has organized a competition and signed commitments between teams and working stations. At the same time, it has closely coordinated with the Party Committee and the authorities of Hung Son commune to review and make a list of households that really need housing support.
From October 2024 to present, with the spirit of "fastest, most effective, most economical", Tr'hy Border Guard Station has mobilized the construction of 8 houses for households in the border area, with a total value of 520 million VND. Along with that are hundreds of working days of officers and soldiers directly participating in construction, leveling the ground, and transporting materials.
The program not only helps people settle down but also contributes to strengthening people's trust in the Party, government and armed forces. Thereby, strengthening the solidarity between the army and the people, building a strong people's border defense position at the Fatherland's border.
In recent years, Tr'hy Border Guard Station has also implemented many livelihood support models, helping people develop the economy such as "Border Guard Station's adopted children", "Love rice jar", giving breeding cows, guiding farming and raising livestock... Through specific and practical work, border guards have become a reliable support, closely attached to the people of ethnic minorities in the highlands.
Joining hands to eliminate temporary houses is not only a humane and practical action for the people's lives, but also a way for Tr'hy Border Guard Station to contribute to building an increasingly strong border, preserving national sovereignty and border security in the new situation.
