Head of the Dak Lak Provincial Rural Development Department Nguyen Duc Thang said: To date, the province has allocated more than 1,650 billion VND for the national target program on sustainable poverty reduction. From this resource, more than 800 livelihood models have been deployed in the period of 2021 - 2025, creating opportunities for tens of thousands of poor, near-poor and newly escaped-poverty households to increase their income.
For example, the case of Mrs. Trinh Thi Mien's family (Buon Triet village, Dur Kmal commune), with the Commune Farmers' Association standing as a guarantee for a loan from the Social Policy Bank of Krong Ana, Mrs. Mien invested in renovating her coffee garden, intercropping fruit trees and raising breeding cows. Thanks to knowing how to calculate reasonably and working hard, each year her family earns over 100 million VND, officially escaping poverty, becoming a good business household in the commune. Mrs. Mien shared: "Since receiving support for production capital, participating in training courses on agricultural extension, animal husbandry..., I have tried to do business; combining technique and hard work, to this day my family has escaped poverty".

Or in Ea Na commune, small but practical and suitable livelihood models have also helped many families improve their lives. Ms. H'Dieu Nie (Kuop village) used to be a poor household; without capital and knowledge of agriculture , she could not escape poverty. Since receiving support from the State to borrow 70 million VND to drill wells, replant coffee and take care of crops, her family has been motivated to work hard to stabilize their lives.
Mr. Pham Ngoc Thiem, Head of the Economic Department of Ea Na Commune, said that the local support resources were deployed to the right subjects, promptly and effectively thanks to careful evaluation and classification; at the same time, regular inspection and supervision were carried out to ensure the models were effective. Thanks to that, the lives of the people, especially ethnic minorities, have improved significantly. The review results at the end of 2025 showed that the whole commune had only 141 poor households and 424 near-poor households.
Head of the Provincial Rural Development Department Nguyen Duc Thang said that the whole province strives to reduce the poverty rate of the whole province to 2.08%, the poverty rate of ethnic minority households to 10.06% by the end of 2025. In the period of 2026 - 2030, the province aims to reduce it by 1 - 1.5% per year, reduce at least 3% in disadvantaged communes and 4% of poor ethnic minority households. To achieve the goal, the province will focus on particularly disadvantaged communes and wards and provide direct support to poor and disadvantaged households. Policies are aimed at vocational training, job creation, livelihood development, and at the same time addressing the shortage of basic social services such as health care, education, housing, and information, contributing to improving the welfare and income of people in poor areas.
