The supply of essential goods in the province is basically sufficient to meet the shopping needs of the people during the Lunar New Year holiday.

Purchasing power in Hai Duong market, especially in urban and densely populated areas, will gradually increase in the last months of the lunar year 2024, particularly in December, due to the movement and storage of goods between wholesale businesses and the shopping and consumption needs of the people. In addition, the demand for travel, visiting relatives, organizing events, meetings, celebrations, and festivals at the beginning of the year will also increase significantly.

According to consumer habits during the Lunar New Year, people's needs are mainly focused on the following items: food, fresh produce (good quality rice, glutinous rice, pork, chicken, beef, etc.), processed foods (cakes, jams, candies, wine, beer, soft drinks, cooking oil, etc.), clothing, footwear, fuel (gasoline, diesel, etc.), and some agricultural products such as vegetables and fruits.

Forecasts for essential goods consumption during the Lunar New Year (from the 15th day of the 12th lunar month to the 15th day of the 1st lunar month) include 5,000-6,000 tons of rice, 3,000-4,000 tons of livestock meat, 1.2-1.3 million poultry eggs, 500-550 tons of chicken meat, 900-1,000 tons of aquatic products and seafood, 10,000-12,000 tons of vegetables and fruits, 700-800 tons of confectionery, 15,000-16,000 liters of wine, beer, and soft drinks, and 14,000-16,000 ^m³ of gasoline and diesel fuel.

Hai Duong currently has 186 active markets, 3 shopping centers, nearly 80 businesses operating under the supermarket model, 240 retail gasoline stations, and over 3,000 grocery stores specializing in essential goods, all widely distributed. The network of markets, supermarkets, shopping centers, gasoline stations, and grocery stores... always proactively ensures a sufficient supply of goods to meet the needs of the people.

Based on the supply and forecast of consumer demand in the province during Tet (Lunar New Year), it is evident that essential goods are sufficient to meet people's shopping needs. In one month, Hai Duong can supply other localities with approximately 10,000 tons of rice, 3,000 tons of pork, 2,600 tons of poultry, 6 million eggs, and 20,000-40,000 tons of vegetables and fruits…
