Reduce traffic congestion at the four-corner intersection of the market.
From 10:00 AM on March 25th, authorities in Hai Chau district began a pilot program of one-way traffic around Han Market, a shopping and tourism destination in the city center.
During the two rush hours from 10am to 12pm and from 4:30pm to 6pm, Hung Vuong and Nguyen Thai Hoc streets will have one-way traffic from Bach Dang to Tran Phu.
Therefore, during this time, all four roads around Han Market are one-way. This pilot program aims to ensure traffic order and safety at this important destination, which attracts a large number of foreign tourists.

According to Tuoi Tre Online , on the first day of the pilot, one-way traffic has limited conflicts at intersections around the market. Tourists can cross the street more conveniently.
Major Bui Thanh Xuan, deputy head of Hai Chau District Police, said that during the pilot period from now until March 31, forces will be increased to guide, propagate and regulate traffic at intersections around the market.
At the same time, we will organize an assessment of the situation, traffic volume, and density of vehicles participating in traffic in the directions...
"After the pilot period, we will hold a meeting to evaluate the next steps, aiming to ensure security, order, and traffic safety for residents and tourists shopping here," said Major Xuan.

Do not park your vehicle on the sidewalk near Han Market.
Also on March 25th, authorities launched an operation to restore urban order on sidewalks.
According to the plan being implemented by Hai Chau district, 100% of the sidewalk space around Han Market (Hung Vuong, Tran Phu, Nguyen Thai Hoc, and Bach Dang streets) will not be used for motorbike parking.
Instead, use some vacant land along Nguyen Thai Hoc Street as temporary parking lots for vendors and shoppers...
On the morning of March 25th, several businesses that were encroaching on the pedestrian walkway were reminded to move.
Mr. Van Tuong, a Korean-speaking tour guide for a travel company in Da Nang , said that having a traffic control force helps sightseeing and shopping activities go more smoothly.
According to Mr. Tuong, this is a tourist market with a large number of visitors. The peak travel hours for city residents are also the times when the most tourists come here.
However, the encroachment on sidewalks by residents around the market, as well as the parking of vehicles, has complicated traffic.
"It's just a few steps across the street, but foreigners unfamiliar with the traffic here are apprehensive when stepping onto the road. Not to mention the sidewalks around the market have long been encroached upon, making walking difficult," Mr. Tuong said.

Focus on handling 2 issues around Han market
The leader of the People's Committee of Hai Chau district said that in the field of traffic, the authorities will check and handle acts of parking vehicles in the wrong places, using carts and rudimentary vehicles as business stalls, causing traffic obstruction and spoiling the urban beauty on the roads, points and areas of violation.
In the field of urban order, we will focus on completely ending the encroachment of sidewalks around Han market on Tran Phu, Bach Dang, Nguyen Thai Hoc, and Hung Vuong streets.
