Speaking at the reception, President Vo Van Thuong welcomed Comrade Li Shulei leading the delegation of the Communist Party of China on a visit to Vietnam and co-chairing the 18th Theoretical Seminar between the two Parties; he respectfully conveyed the best wishes and New Year greetings for 2024 from General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping and other high-ranking leaders of the Chinese Party and State.
President Vo Van Thuong received Comrade Li Shulei, Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Secretariat, and Head of the Central Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of China.
President Vo Van Thuong highly appreciated the significance of the delegation's visit, which is the first high-level exchange between the two Parties and two countries in 2024, aiming to concretize the important common understanding between the two General Secretaries of the two Parties, especially the recent State visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping and his wife, which has great historical significance. During the visit, both sides agreed to further deepen the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China; and at the same time elevate it to a new level by jointly building a strategically significant community of shared future, striving for the happiness of the people of both countries, and for the cause of peace and progress of humanity.
The President congratulated the achievements that the Party, State, and people of China have made in recent times; expressing confidence that, under the leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China with General Secretary and President Xi Jinping as the core and the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, the Chinese people will successfully achieve the goal of the "second centenary," becoming a modern, prosperous, democratic, civilized, harmonious, and beautiful socialist power, making even greater contributions to peace, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.
Li Shulei, Head of the Central Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of China, respectfully conveyed the greetings and best wishes of General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and President Vo Van Thuong. He emphasized that during his recent state visit to Vietnam, General Secretary and President Xi Jinping held talks with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and President Vo Van Thuong, and the high-level leaders of both sides reached important common understandings and orientations for cooperation between the two Parties and countries. Li Shulei expressed his emotion and sincere gratitude to the leaders of the Party, State, and people of Vietnam for the thoughtful, respectful, and fraternal welcome extended to General Secretary and President Xi Jinping during his visit.
Comrade Li Shulei expressed his agreement and high appreciation for President Vo Van Thuong's suggestions on promoting cooperative relations between the two Parties and countries, as well as his comments on improving the effectiveness of coordination between the Central Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Central Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of China. The two departments will further strengthen coordination and exchange experiences in ideological and cultural work in the spirit of the common understanding of the high-level leaders of the two Parties and countries, enhancing positive propaganda about the tradition of friendship and the good achievements in cooperative relations between the two countries, contributing to further promoting the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China.
President Vo Van Thuong stated that both sides need to maximize the fine traditions, especially between the two Parties, the two countries, and the people of the two countries; thoroughly understand the common understanding between the two General Secretaries of the two Parties; and strengthen exchanges, contacts, and meetings between high-level leaders and at all levels between the two Parties and the two countries. Vietnam welcomes the leaders of the Chinese Party and State, as well as Chinese agencies and localities, to visit Vietnam.
The President emphasized that the two General Secretaries of the two countries have repeatedly affirmed that the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China, formed and tested over time, built and nurtured by generations of leaders of the two Parties and two countries, has become a precious asset that needs to be widely disseminated among cadres, Party members, the people, and especially the younger generation of both countries.
The President highly appreciated the results of the talks and seminars between the two Heads of the Propaganda and Information Departments of the two Parties, and suggested that the two agencies coordinate and widely disseminate positive values, thereby contributing to creating momentum and spiritual strength to continuously develop the relationship between the two Parties and two countries in the future. Along with that, they should strengthen coordination in disseminating and fully understanding among cadres, Party members, and people of both countries the Joint Statement and the six major directions outlined in the recent visit of General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping to Vietnam, creating a basis for the effective implementation of cooperation agreements between the two sides.
