“Currently, the Su-25 is being developed. The relevant documents are being reviewed and transferred by the Russian side,” the Belarusian ambassador said.
In addition, the Belarusian diplomat said that Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko even set a "super task, an ultimate task" that Minsk would "go from assembling aircraft engines to completely assembling aircraft".
According to Mr. Krutoy, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov will lead a delegation to visit Minsk in the near future and this issue will be discussed at the government level.
"This will be a real breakthrough. Minsk will move to a completely different level in the aircraft industry in the coming years," the Belarusian ambassador said.
According to Mr. Krutoy, Russia is currently proposing to produce in Belarus about 1,350 products and components for the MS-21 civil aircraft model; more than 2,100 products for the IL-76 and IL-78 aircraft models; and about 700 products for the Tu-204 aircraft.
In mid-February, during a meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that the country's specialists "with a small amount of technological support from Russia" were ready to start producing attack aircraft.
President Lukashenko also noted that “Belarusians have manufactured up to 1,000 parts” for Russian civil aircraft MS-21 and Sukhoi Superjet.
