Vietnam Railways Corporation has just announced that passengers should go to the station to process refunds for train tickets due to the suspension of train services because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Specifically, during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic, the railway had to temporarily suspend the operation of some passenger trains. To protect the rights of customers, the railway implemented a policy of refunding ticket money or allowing customers to retain their train tickets for a period of one year.
The railway company announced that passengers can process refunds for their reserved tickets due to the suspension of train services because of the Covid-19 pandemic (Image: illustration).
However, to date, more than 4,000 customers have yet to complete the procedures to receive their ticket refunds, totaling nearly 2.2 billion VND.
Therefore, the railway company is advising passengers to go to the nearest station to process refunds for reserved tickets until October 31, 2024. After this date, the railway company will cease supporting refunds for reserved tickets as per regulations.
Refund procedure for ticket cancellations: The ticket canceller must bring the original "Ticket Cancellation Receipt" stamped by the ticket cancelling agency and valid identification documents to the ticket counters at railway stations to receive the refund.
In cases where passengers lose their "Ticket Refund Receipt," they will be instructed to complete the procedure at the station, instead of receiving a retained Ticket Refund Receipt.
Passengers can also call the ticket hotline 19001520 (Saigon station) or 19000109 ( Hanoi station) for answers and specific guidance.
