The launch ceremony for the "Draw a Vaccination Hero with VNVC" contest took place on the morning of October 21st at the VNVC Hoang Van Thu vaccination center (Ho Chi Minh City), attracting the attention of hundreds of children. The children could choose to draw on paper or on tablets provided by the organizers.
With the theme of creatively drawing a hero fighting viruses and bacteria, 11-year-old Le Nguyen Nguyen Bao quickly sketched an image of a doctor bravely fighting the Covid-19 pandemic. He shared that he had contracted Covid-19 twice. Thanks to vaccination, when he got sick, he only had mild symptoms and did not suffer from pneumonia or coughing.
"Through my painting, I want to thank the doctors and medical staff who work tirelessly day and night to bring peace to the people," Bao said, explaining that it took him about three hours to sketch the picture at home to accurately depict the doctor he remembered.
Watching her 12-year-old daughter, Le Dinh Bao Ngoc, participate in the competition at the launch ceremony, Ms. Kim Thanh was deeply moved. She said that Ngoc had been eagerly preparing for the competition for several days. “My daughter went to the drawing competition, and both of us learned something new. Our family has already given her all the necessary vaccinations, including booster shots. But now, thanks to the competition, we have the opportunity to learn more about each type. I will have her vaccinated against pneumococcal pneumonia, which she hasn't received yet. Hopefully, after the competition, she will be even more aware of protecting her health,” Ms. Thanh shared.
