Facebook removed 10 million fake accounts

On the afternoon of July 15, a representative of Meta, Facebook's parent company, said that in the first half of 2025 alone, Facebook had handled about 500,000 accounts that engaged in spam (sending junk content) or fake interactions, and applied measures such as limiting comments, reducing content distribution, and preventing these spam accounts from generating revenue.

The platform also removed about 10 million accounts impersonating major content producers.
