This afternoon (July 6), nearly 18,000 candidates taking the assessment exam of the Ministry of Public Security were present at the assessment exam sites of the Ministry of Public Security to complete the exam procedures, an increase of 20% compared to 2023. Meanwhile, the total enrollment target for the People's Police academies and schools this year is 2,150.

Recorded at the People's Security Academy examination site (Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi) - an examination site with thousands of candidates taking the exam, from 13:00 many candidates from all over the place such as Hue, Nghe An, Ha Tinh , Lang Son... were present to complete the exam procedures.

Candidate Do Thi Ngoc Tram, a student at Tan Ky High School in Nghe An province, said she and her father traveled about 300km to Hanoi on the night of July 5 to be in time for the Ministry of Public Security's assessment exam.

“I will take the CA1 exam (multiple choice and math essay) for admission to the People's Security Academy. Nghe An province only has 4 quotas for female candidates, so this will be a fierce competition. Currently, I am quite confident and keep my mind relaxed to complete the exam in the best way possible,” Tram said.

While candidates were completing the exam procedures and listening to the exam regulations, outside the exam area, hundreds of parents and relatives were waiting for the candidates with many different emotions.

Ms. Hoang Thi Phuong (residing in Huu Lung district, Lang Son province) said that she and her son arrived in Hanoi early in the morning to find a room to rent, then took her son to the exam location to complete the exam procedures. According to Ms. Phuong, this is the second year her son has taken the exam to enter the People's Security Academy to pursue his dream of working in the police force.

“Last year, because I didn’t prepare well, I missed a few points on the exam. After that, I went to another university. After putting my studies on hold, I continued to study for the security industry entrance exam.

Even though I'm worried, I always encourage my child to confidently pursue his passion," Ms. Phuong sincerely shared.

Similarly, Ms. Dao Thi Tam (from Moc Chau, Son La province) also went to Hanoi with her child from the morning of July 6, so that her child could attend the assessment exam of the Ministry of Public Security.

“My child registered for the cyber security exam at the People’s Security Academy. The competition rate for admission to police schools is very high, and my child’s academic performance is average, so the opportunity is uncertain. However, the family created the best conditions for my child to take the exam, to satisfy his passion for information technology. If he fails, this will be an experience for him,” said Ms. Tam.

Candidates take the exam on the morning of July 7 at 30 testing locations nationwide.

The 2024 Ministry of Public Security assessment exam will have 30 testing locations. Specifically, at 3:00 p.m. on July 6, candidates will go to the exam room to complete exam registration procedures, correct errors (if any), and listen to the announcement of exam regulations and schedule.

From 7:30 a.m. on July 7, candidates will take the Ministry of Public Security's assessment test for 180 minutes.

The test structure consists of two parts: multiple choice and essay. The multiple choice part focuses on testing knowledge in the current high school program, including knowledge of natural sciences, social sciences, and foreign languages; in the essay part, candidates can choose one of two contents: literature or mathematics.

In 2024, the Ministry of Public Security's recruitment work will basically remain stable as in 2023, through three recruitment methods.

In addition to the two methods of direct admission and combined admission, schools also use the main method of combining the scores of the Ministry of Public Security's assessment test and high school graduation exam scores.

With method 3 (enrollment through the assessment exam of the Ministry of Public Security), through the assessment of documents and approval of exam conditions, there are currently 17,927 candidates eligible to take the exam.

The formula for calculating admission scores still applies the total score of the 3 subjects in the admission group (accounting for 40%) and the assessment test score of the Ministry of Public Security is converted to a 30-point scale (accounting for 60%).

Previously, through assessment, 11 candidates were admitted under method 1 (winning national and international prizes), 116 candidates were admitted under method 2 (recruiting candidates with foreign language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 7.5 points or higher).
