(CLO) On the morning of November 30th, in Hanoi, the Vietnam-Romania Friendship Association held a friendly meeting to commemorate the 106th anniversary of Romania's National Day (December 1st, 1918 - December 1st, 2024) and to look forward to the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Romania (February 3rd, 1950 - February 3rd, 2024).
Speaking at the event, journalist Ho Quang Loi, Chairman of the Vietnam-Romania Friendship Association, said: "Romania is one of the 10 countries that established diplomatic relations earliest with the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. Continuing the fine tradition built and tested through historical periods, in recent years, the comprehensive friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Romania has expanded and deepened in the fields of politics, diplomacy, trade, agriculture, industry, labor, tourism, education and training..."

The two countries have conducted high-level visits, most notably the recent official visit to Romania by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh from January 21 to 23, 2024. As an official member of both delegations and in my capacity as Chairman of the Vietnam-Romania Friendship Association, I witnessed firsthand the outstanding success of the visit and the warm and respectful welcome extended by Romanian leaders and people to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and our delegation. The positive results of the visit are bringing the relationship between the two countries to a new level of development.
Furthermore, Vietnam and Romania will continue to coordinate closely, share experiences, and support each other in multilateral forums and international organizations, contributing to ensuring peace, security, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.
"Established 33 years ago, the Vietnam-Romania Friendship Association is an active member organization of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations. The Vietnam-Romania Friendship Association has gathered thousands of active members in various associations nationwide. To date, the Vietnam-Romania Friendship Association has 1,115 members operating in 14 branches across provinces and cities nationwide, with the Ho Chi Minh City branch alone having 200 members," said the President of the Vietnam-Romania Friendship Association.
Over the years, the activities of the Vietnam-Romania Friendship Association, and especially its affiliated branches, have become increasingly enthusiastic and vibrant. Many branches have regularly organized diverse and specific activities, strengthening the connection and bond among members.
Journalist Ho Quang Loi also expressed his belief that the friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Romania will continue to develop, commensurate with the fine tradition of friendship and the potential and strengths of the two countries.
Romanian Ambassador to Vietnam Cristina Romila delivered a speech.
At the event, Romanian Ambassador to Vietnam Cristina Romila stated that Romania and Vietnam have a long-standing traditional friendship. This relationship has been continuously nurtured by generations of leaders and people of both countries.
"I believe that bilateral relations between our two countries are experiencing one of the most beautiful and dynamic periods in their history of over 74 years. The renewed interest in developing bilateral cooperation ensures a solid foundation of friendship between our people by seizing the opportunities of the 21st century," emphasized the Romanian Ambassador to Vietnam.
On this occasion, Ambassador Cristina Romila also thanked the Government , ministries, departments, and people of Vietnam, including the Vietnam-Romania Friendship Association, for their continued attention, support, and facilitation in enabling her to successfully complete her duties during her term of office.
