Gia Dinh - Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City: Miles of History (1698 - 2020): Awarded A Prize at the 7th National Book Awards

At the 7th National Book Awards ceremony, the organizing committee selected and awarded prizes to 58 works. Among them, the research work "Gia Dinh - Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City: A Long Journey of History (1698-2020)" by researcher Nguyen Dinh Tu (published by Ho Chi Minh City General Publishing House) was awarded the A prize. The work consists of two substantial volumes, over 1,500 pages, conveying a wealth of valuable information about the former Gia Dinh - Saigon region, now Ho Chi Minh City.
Researcher Nguyen Dinh Tu presents a book to Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Phan Van Mai. This work was conceived, continuously supplemented, and updated over more than 20 years by author Nguyen Dinh Tu. Before boarding the train (he enjoys traveling by train to admire the beautiful scenery of the country) to Hanoi to attend the National Book Award ceremony held on the evening of November 29th at the Grand Theatre, researcher Nguyen Dinh Tu welcomed the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Phan Van Mai, at his home. Mr. Phan Van Mai inquired about his health and congratulated the 104-year-old researcher on his work about the land and people of Gia Dinh - Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City, which was awarded the 7th National Book Award. Prior to this, researcher Nguyen Dinh Tu had also received the A Prize at the first National Book Award ceremony, held in 2018, for his two-volume work , "The French Colonial Regime in Southern Vietnam (1859-1954) ." Researcher Nguyen Dinh Tu has autographed and presented Comrade Phan Van Mai with three novels , "Nguyen Xi," "The Meaning of Life," and "Stepmother, Stepdaughter," which were recently published by the Ho Chi Minh City General Publishing House.
