Domestic retail gas prices for March continue to fall from today, March 1st, following the downward trend of world gas prices. Specifically, the retail price of Petrolimex gas cylinders (including VAT) for March 2025 in Hanoi is 457,400 VND/12 kg household cylinder; and 1,829,600 VND/48 kg industrial cylinder, a decrease of 2,700 VND/12 kg cylinder and 10,500 VND/48 kg cylinder respectively.
Similarly, the price of City Petro, Vimexco, and Vina Pacific Petro gas at Pacific Petro Trading Joint Stock Company (Pacific Petro Gas) decreased by 167 VND/kg.
Specifically, the price of a 6 kg cylinder will decrease by 1,000 VND/cylinder, bringing the new selling price to 275,500 VND/cylinder; a 12 kg cylinder will decrease by 2,000 VND/cylinder, to 491,500 VND/cylinder; a 45 kg cylinder will decrease by 7,500 VND, to 1,842,000 VND/cylinder; and a 50 kg cylinder will decrease by 8,000 VND/cylinder, to 2,046,500 VND/cylinder.
According to a representative of Petrolimex Gas Corporation, the decrease in gas prices in March 2025 is due to the average world gas price contract for March 2025 being at 610 USD/ton, a decrease of 20 USD/ton compared to February 2025, and due to fluctuations in the USD exchange rate, Petrolimex Gas Corporation has adjusted the price downwards accordingly.
Thus, this is the second month in 2025 that gas prices have continued to fall. On the world market, at 8:30 AM on March 1st (Vietnam time), the price of US natural gas futures contracts for April 2025 (delivery on February 26th) was stable at $3.82/mmbtu, down 2.92% from the previous price.
