In summary, domestic pepper prices decreased by 2,000 to 3,000 VND/kg last week. Compared to the same period last year, export volume decreased by 25.9%, but export value increased by 25.1%. According to forecasts by the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), global pepper production continues its downward trend while consumption demand remains stable, creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese pepper exports.
With current pepper export prices having increased by 68% compared to the same period last year, VPSA predicts that pepper exports in 2025 will be very favorable. The association forecasts that the value of pepper exports this year could reach a record high of $1.5 billion.
