The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just issued a document to petroleum wholesalers and distributors regarding the management of domestic retail gasoline and diesel prices. Accordingly, domestic gasoline and diesel prices will be reduced simultaneously from 3 PM today (December 11).
Specifically, the ceiling price for E5RON92 gasoline is 19,615 VND/liter, a decrease of 207 VND/liter, which is 467 VND/liter lower than RON95-III gasoline; the new price for RON95-III gasoline is 20,082 VND/liter, a decrease of 378 VND/liter compared to the previous adjustment on December 4th.
Following the trend of gasoline prices, in this price adjustment period, diesel prices decreased by 226 VND/liter, to 18,154 VND/liter; kerosene decreased by 252 VND/liter, with the new price being 18,641 VND/liter; and mazut prices decreased by 43 VND/liter, to 13,393 VND/kg.
Since the beginning of the year, the price stabilization fund has remained unchanged, with no contributions or expenditures made on petroleum products. A representative from the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) stated that the balance of the price stabilization fund at the company is 3,086 billion VND.
According to a representative from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in this price adjustment period, the plan aims to ensure that domestic fuel price fluctuations are consistent with world fuel price fluctuations; to continue maintaining a reasonable price difference between E5RON92 bio-gasoline and RON95 mineral gasoline to encourage the use of biofuels in accordance with the Government's policy; and to ensure a balance of interests among market participants.
In the most recent price adjustment on December 4th, gasoline prices increased, specifically E5RON92 gasoline increased by 534 VND/liter; RON95-III gasoline increased by 451 VND/liter. In contrast to gasoline prices, diesel prices decreased by 420 VND/liter; kerosene decreased by 580 VND/liter; and fuel oil decreased by 52 VND/kg.
According to Decree No. 80/2023/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 95/2021/ND-CP dated November 1, 2021 and Decree No. 83/2014/ND-CP dated September 3, 2014 of the Government on petroleum business, the time for adjusting petroleum prices is carried out every Thursday.
