Standard Chartered Hanoi Heritage Marathon: Enhance your professionalism with Pacer training

From nearly 300 registered runners, the organizing committee selected 34 outstanding faces based on strict criteria of achievements, experience, discipline and desire to become inspirational pacemakers.

During the training course, the pacers were comprehensively trained in speed control techniques, energy distribution, maintaining a steady pace, along with individual and group exercises designed according to international curriculums under the direct guidance of Xtep experts. They were also equipped and experienced with the high-performance Xtep 160X 7.0 shoe line, helping to optimize each running step in all competition conditions.

Thus, the 2025 season of the Standard Chartered Hanoi Heritage Marathon marks a new step forward in the selection and training of Pacers - those who play an important role in helping athletes conquer their competition goals.

This is the first time the Tournament has implemented the X-Run Training Camp program, a professional pacer training activity under the guidance of international-class coaches from Xtep - the Tournament's exclusive clothing sponsor and professional supporter.

With extensive experience accompanying many prestigious marathons in China and the region, X-Run Training Camp offers an in-depth training program, aiming to standardize the quality and professionalism of the pacer team, creating opportunities for domestic athletes to exchange and learn with international experts.

X-Run Training Camp is a training initiative designed specifically for pacers and elite runners, to equip them with professional pacing knowledge and skills, enhance their ability to control their tempo and endurance, as well as simulate real-life competition conditions, helping pacers build confidence and improve their ability to lead the running community in preparation for the main race day.

The program is a new step forward for the Vietnamese running community, affirming the pioneering role of the tournament in developing a sustainable running community, connecting Vietnamese runners with the international running movement.

“The pacers are not just pacesetters — they are leaders on the race track. Their professionalism and consistency determine the experience and achievements of thousands of runners,” said Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Tri, representative of DHA Vietnam - the owner and direct organizer of the heritage race system.

With the companionship of professionally trained pacers according to international standards, athletes can completely feel secure conquering every kilometer of the running track, confidently reaching the finish line on time and fully enjoying the atmosphere of an international-class marathon - where Hanoi is not only the destination of Vietnamese runners but also a symbol connecting the global sports spirit.

Last year, the tournament attracted up to 18,000 participants and was one of the marathons with the largest participation of running enthusiasts.
