Speaking to VietNamNet, Mr. Cuong affirmed: “I only took over managing the theater in January 2023, and many audience members praised the design and the spacious seating. There are many types of wood now, and they can still be used in everyday life. If we keep saying that using wood is destroying the forest, then Dong Ky will lose its traditional craft village.”

People's Artist Thuy Huong said that since the theater opened, she has had the opportunity to perform in this space many times.

“I find this place very elegant and dignified. When guests come to visit, we offer them betel nuts and water in the most formal setting. Given the characteristics of Quan Ho folk singing, this space is suitable, and the tables and chairs are very beautiful. As performing artists, we are fortunate to be able to interact more closely with the audience,” shared People's Artist Thuy Huong.

Previously, as reported by VietNamNet, social media users debated the audience seating inside the theater. Many argued that the seats "reeked of money, looked inappropriate for the theater's space, not to mention whether using so many all-wooden seats is environmentally friendly."

Another viewpoint states: "It is very suitable for the setting of Quan Ho folk singing."

The consulting unit later shared with VietNamNet: "The commendable innovation here is the placement of a tea table between the two rows of seats. Because Quan Ho is a form of courtship singing, a characteristic feature is that each time they sing, the male and female singers offer betel nuts and tea. Therefore, we advised placing the table and wide aisles so that the artists could interact with each audience member. In contrast, at the Hanoi Opera House, the seats are too narrow, and people have to squeeze past each other to get through."

"We also use Dong Ky wood because it's a local material, which in a way helps introduce the traditional craft village materials and products of Bac Ninh to domestic and international tourists," the representative shared.
