*Pig price in the Northern region
In the Northern pig market, the purchase price is relatively stable.
Traders in most localities trade live pigs at an average price of 65,000 VND/kg.
Only Thai Binh slightly reduced the price by 1,000 VND/kg, bringing the price of live pigs down to 65,000 VND/kg.
Today's live pig price in the North is around 64,000 - 65,000 VND/kg.
*Pig price in the Central Highlands region
The Central Highlands region witnessed a decrease of 1,000 VND/kg in live pig prices in Quang Tri , currently reaching 62,000 VND/kg - the lowest in the region.
The remaining provinces and cities continue to maintain the price of live pigs unchanged from 63,000 VND/kg to 65,000 VND/kg.
Currently, the price of live pigs in the Central and Central Highlands regions is around 62,000 - 65,000 VND/kg.
*Pig price in the Southern region
In the Southern region, purchasing prices also decreased sporadically in a few places.
Specifically, after a slight decrease of 1,000 VND/kg, the price of live pigs in Dong Nai dropped to 65,000 VND/kg, in Dong Thap to 63,000 VND/kg and in Vinh Long to 62,000 VND/kg.
Pigs in other localities were still purchased stably at the beginning of this morning's session.
Currently, the purchase price in the South fluctuates between 62,000 - 65,000 VND/kg.
* According to the Hai Duong Statistics Office, by the end of July 2024, the pig herd in the province was estimated at 303,000, up 4.6% over the same period last year. The output of live pigs for slaughter in the first 7 months of 2024 reached 41,319 tons, up 6.3% over the same period in 2023.
The output of live cattle and poultry meat increased compared to the same period due to the stable livestock situation in Hai Duong, no epidemics, and good livestock development.
Pig farming by enterprises, farms and large-scale households has brought high economic efficiency. Farmers have proactively restored their herds according to the recommendations of the authorities, applied disease prevention measures for livestock and poultry, and applied bio-safety farming.
