Born in Hanoi in 1991, Duong Hoang Yen started attending activities at the Children's Cultural Center at the age of four. Her family wasn't well-off, so from a young age, the singer was conscious of helping her parents. While in school, she always strived for high grades and scholarships to reduce her parents' financial burden.
Duong Hoang Yen first gained recognition through the Sao Mai Rendezvous 2008 competition. In 2013, she made a strong comeback in The Voice Vietnam . The female singer was praised by musicians such as Duong Thu and Quoc Trung for her strong soprano voice and good technique.
Besides her role as a singer, Duong Hoang Yen is also known to the audience as a lecturer in the Vocal Music Department at the Hanoi College of Arts. Looking at her age, few would guess that she has been a state employee for 10 years. She was retained by the school as a vocal music lecturer when she was only 22 years old.
Over the years, despite being busy with her career as a singer, Duong Hoang Yen has still found time to teach.

Years ago, she shared about her teaching job: "Some people, upon learning that I receive 2.9 million VND per month for teaching, advised me to quit or temporarily take a break to focus on developing my career and doing shows. But I replied that even if I have to cancel shows, I can't abandon my students."
Duong Hoang Yen has always been committed to training students in a way that preserves their natural beauty as much as possible.
In 2022, Duong Hoang Yen decided to move to the South of Vietnam to continue pursuing her singing career.
Sharing her reasons for participating in the "Beautiful Women Riding the Wind 2024" competition, the female singer confided: "Each female artist is busy with their own work, so having a long-term program that brings together 30 artists, 30 unique personalities working together in a professional environment, investing in and dedicating themselves to providing the audience with spectacular performances is truly exciting."
In addition, Duong Hoang Yen wants to participate in the program to learn from the other beautiful ladies and, especially, to discover new things for her future musical career.
