On the morning of May 24th, in Yen Mo district, the Provincial Rural Development Coordination Office held a meeting to review rural development work in the second quarter of 2024 and to outline directions and tasks for the remaining months of the year.
The conference was attended by leaders from the Provincial Rural Development Coordination Office; the Steering Committee for Rural Development; and the Rural Development Coordination Offices of the districts and cities.
The province has paid special attention to the new rural development program. From the beginning of 2024, the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Provincial Steering Committee organized on-site inspections and worked with Yen Mo district to direct the resolution of difficulties and accelerate the implementation of the program to achieve advanced new rural development standards in 2024.
At the same time, the Provincial People's Committee issued decisions detailing the criteria for new rural areas at the district and commune levels.
To date, all 6 districts in the province have met the standards for new rural areas, and all 2 cities have completed the task of building new rural areas.
Yen Khanh District is submitting to the Prime Minister a Decision recognizing the district as having achieved advanced new rural standards in 2023; 119 out of 119 communes in the province have achieved new rural standards; 50 out of 119 communes (42%) have achieved advanced new rural standards; 18 out of 119 communes (15%) have achieved model new rural standards; and 542 out of 1,355 villages and hamlets (40%) have achieved model new rural village standards.
Local authorities have held ceremonies to announce that they have met the required standards.
Implementing the "One Commune, One Product" (OCOP) program, the province now has 181 OCOP products from 109 entities, including 70 four-star products and 111 three-star products (exceeding the planned target for the 2021-2025 period).
The main direction and tasks for the remaining months of the year are to finalize and submit to the Provincial People's Committee a Decision detailing the public investment plan and provincial budget for 2024 to implement the national target program for building new rural areas.
Advising the Provincial People's Committee on completing the dossier requesting the recognition of Yen Mo district as achieving advanced new rural standards in 2024; and considering the recognition of communes as achieving advanced new rural standards and model new rural standards in 2024. Developing a plan to complete the dossier and consider the recognition of districts and communes as achieving advanced new rural standards and model new rural standards in 2024.
At the review meeting, delegates exchanged and discussed the advantages, difficulties, and obstacles encountered during the implementation process; they also offered innovative ideas, valuable experiences, and effective methods to ensure that the new rural development program truly goes in-depth and yields practical results.
