REVIEW TO "ADJUST" THE GENERAL EDUCATION PROGRAM
May 2025 is the time to complete the first cycle of implementing the 2018 General Education Program (GEP) in its entirety for all three levels of education nationwide. The Ministry of Education and Training said it has prepared for the comprehensive review, assessment, revision, supplementation, and completion of the program.
According to Mr. Pham Ngoc Thuong, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, the Ministry wishes to listen to the opinions of experts and scientists on the implementation of assessment, the content of program development, the contents that need to be edited and supplemented, and the viewpoints on the orientation and timing of program development. "The orientation and development of the program must be carried out consistently on the basis of not causing too much disruption, not causing difficulties for teachers and learners, not causing difficulties in terms of facilities, programs, methods, documents and textbooks," said Mr. Thuong.
Many opinions say that one of the most concerning issues when reviewing the program is the organization of integrated teaching at the secondary school level. Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son once shared that this is the biggest "bottleneck" when renewing the program and promised to consider and adjust it.
