Traffic is guaranteed on the day of the 10th grade entrance exam.

Colonel Tran Dinh Nghia, Head of the Traffic Police Department, said that in June 2023, two important exams will take place in Hanoi : the entrance exam for 10th grade high school for the 2023-2024 school year, and the 2023 high school graduation exam. It is expected that over 200,000 candidates will take both exams across the city, an increase of nearly 20,000 students compared to the 2022-2023 school year.

Traffic in Hanoi was ensured on the day of the high school entrance exam (Figure 1). — Candidates always receive timely assistance from traffic police officers.

The Traffic Police Department proactively coordinated with the Department of Education and Training and local authorities at all levels to implement measures to ensure the exam was conducted seriously, honestly, fairly, effectively, and conveniently. Before the first day of the exam (June 10th), the unit proactively monitored the local situation, organized on-duty personnel, and managed traffic flow to avoid disrupting exam candidates.

On June 10th, traffic police teams were simultaneously directing traffic on the streets and assisting candidates at locations prone to congestion or flooding due to bad weather.

Captain Pham Ngoc Thanh, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union, Traffic Police Team No. 4, Traffic Police Department, said: The unit chose Luong Yen Secondary School, located in a small alley and street, as the exam location to support candidates and manage traffic flow. This morning, there were no late arrivals at this exam location, and traffic order and safety at the school gate were ensured.

In Hoan Kiem district, during the weekend, a large number of tourist vehicles appeared in the early morning. Traffic Police Team No. 1, under the Traffic Police Department, proactively patrolled the streets and coordinated with the police and the Hoan Kiem District Traffic Inspectorate to be on duty at examination sites.

Major Nguyen Hoang Ninh, Team Leader of Traffic Police Team No. 1, said that during their duties, the task forces are ready to assist candidates and their families who experience vehicle breakdowns, get lost, etc.

Meanwhile, in Long Bien district, Deputy Chairwoman of the Long Bien District People's Committee, Dinh Thi Thu Huong, said that the unit had directed the District Police to take the lead and coordinate with Traffic Police Team No. 5 and the Long Bien Transport Inspection Team to develop plans to ensure security and order, fire safety, rescue operations in case of complex weather conditions, and traffic safety at market points in the district.

Traffic in Hanoi was ensured on the day of the high school entrance exam (Figure 2). — Hanoi traffic police are on duty on the roads to serve the exam period.

Officials were assigned to duty at the examination sites; the police in each ward were instructed to coordinate and implement the security plan at each site. At each site, one district security officer ensured the security of the exam papers and answer sheets; two ward police officers were assigned to protect the entrance area and the examination site itself... To date, no signs of instability regarding security, public order, or traffic safety have been detected.

During the following exam days, the Traffic Police Department continued to deploy additional forces on key traffic routes, manage traffic flow in the surrounding areas and at exam locations, at intersections prone to congestion during peak hours, and on roads under construction. They promptly resolved traffic jams on roads and in exam areas, provided assistance and facilitated candidates and invigilators to arrive on time for the exams; and arranged police escort vehicles for the transportation of exam papers in emergency situations when requested.

Colonel Tran Dinh Nghia affirmed that, in order to prepare for a safe examination, the Traffic Police Department has requested 100% of its officers and soldiers to be on duty, ready to respond to and handle any unexpected situations that may arise, and to assist neighboring areas in case of traffic congestion.

In addition, during the exam period, through the surveillance camera system at the Traffic Light Control Command Center, the Traffic Police Department can quickly identify incidents such as traffic congestion or accidents to handle them promptly.
