The Ministry of Construction requests the early completion of safety standards for apartment buildings with electric vehicle charging stations.

(CLO) The Ministry of Construction has recently issued a document requesting the Department of Housing and Real Estate Market Management to develop and finalize safety standards for apartment buildings equipped with electric vehicle charging stations/poles, applicable to both existing apartment buildings and new construction projects.

This move comes after public outcry over the situation of "electric vehicles entering apartment building basements while safety standards are still pending," raising concerns about fire safety and infrastructure in these buildings.

According to the Ministry of Construction, the aforementioned task is being implemented in accordance with the conclusions of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha in Notice 490/TB-VPCP and related directives on environmental protection, climate change, and energy conservation for the period 2025–2026.

The Ministry also requested the Department to proactively communicate policies and gather public opinion during the review and refinement of regulations, ensuring transparency and fostering social consensus in accordance with the spirit of Directive 07/CT-TTg.
