Among the large crowds flocking to the Vietnam Exhibition Center (Dong Anh, Hanoi ) to see the National Achievements Exhibition, many young people dressed in traditional costumes and cosplaying game characters visited the exhibition area of the Vietnamese gaming industry.
When Vietnamese games explore elements of Vietnamese culture
In particular, many groups within the gaming community created impressive cosplays of characters from the game Au Mobile, attracting the attention of exhibition visitors.
Another group opted for vibrant red outfits, reflecting the national flag. Among them, the red flag with a yellow star scarf, a "hot trend" for National Day on September 2nd, was chosen by many young people, painting the entire gaming exhibition space red.

The game seminars and Au game demonstrations held over the past few days have also attracted a large number of young people.
Impressed by the young people dressed in traditional costumes cosplaying game characters while visiting the exhibition space showcasing 12 cultural industries, Director of the Department of Performing Arts Nguyen Xuan Bac said he was very pleased that Vietnamese games have recently paid great attention to incorporating Vietnamese cultural elements into their designs.
Beyond just entertainment, he emphasized that games can also become a "new stage" for conveying art, history, and fostering national pride.

Games could become a "highlight " in 12 cultural industries.
Regarding the topic of incorporating cultural elements into game design, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Bao, General Director of VTC Multimedia Corporation, said that previously, Vietnamese cultural elements in games had not been extensively explored. The focus had mainly been on basic localization of foreign products.
However, with the growing domestic production capacity, it's time we systematically incorporated Vietnamese culture into games, thereby creating unique values and spreading Vietnamese cultural heritage to the world .
Recently, Vietnam has emerged as a global "game production hub." Many Vietnamese studios have participated in developing games for major markets such as the US, Japan, and South Korea.
However, despite having a large gaming community (among the top 5 countries with the largest number of gamers in the world) and a talented team of programmers, we still lack many purely Vietnamese games that have made a significant impact.
The majority of the Vietnamese gaming market still revolves around localized versions of foreign games. While translation and localization help games quickly reach players, it's not enough to establish a national brand.

Many Vietnamese games are increasingly focusing on exploring the cultural values of the country.
However, Mr. Ngoc Bao believes that within the system of 12 cultural industries identified by the Government , gaming can absolutely become a "highlight" due to its advantages in young workforce, technological capabilities, and a wide-open market.
The remaining issue is strategy and long-term vision.

Mr. Le Minh Tuan, Deputy Director of the Copyright Department, said that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is submitting to the Government a strategy for the development of the cultural industry for the period 2030-2045, in which entertainment games continue to be identified as a key focus.
According to Appota's 2022 report, the Vietnamese gaming market generated revenue of over 13,600 billion VND, with more than 50 million players.
Vietnam is currently among the top 5 countries with the largest number of gamers in the world.
