GRDP of provinces in the Southeast Emulation Cluster reaches 7% on average

On the morning of March 28, at the Binh Phuoc Provincial Party Committee hall, the Emulation Cluster of the Southeast provinces held a conference to summarize the implementation of the emulation covenant in 2023 and sign the emulation covenant in 2024.

In 2023, in the context of socio-economic conditions still facing many difficulties and challenges, the People's Committees of the provinces in the cluster have promptly forecasted and assessed the situation, seriously implemented the directions of the National Assembly, the Government, ministries, central agencies and the policies and resolutions of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Council, thanks to which the socio-economic situation of the provinces has gradually recovered positively.

The economic structure continues to shift in the right direction, in line with the potential and strengths of each locality. The economic growth rate (GRDP) of the provinces in the cluster has mostly increased quite well, reaching an average of 7%. Budget revenue reached over 258 trillion VND. Export turnover reached over 67 billion USD. Domestic investment attraction reached over 167 trillion VND, foreign investment attraction reached nearly 5.5 billion USD.

The fields of education, health, science and technology continue to develop and improve quality, meeting the set goals and tasks, social security policies continue to be prioritized. National defense and security are maintained, social order and safety are ensured. Administrative reform, e-government construction, and anti-corruption are promoted...

Emulation and reward work is implemented promptly, seriously, ensuring compliance with legal regulations; focusing on rewarding the right subjects and achievements, paying attention to rewarding remote areas, ethnic minority areas, border areas, islands; rewarding small collectives, individuals who are farmers, workers, direct laborers, households... contributing positively to the socio-economic development of the whole country.

In addition to the achieved results, there are still certain limitations such as: Some provinces still face many difficulties in budget collection and disbursement of public investment capital. Infrastructure has not developed synchronously; environmental pollution in some production and business enterprises still occurs. Social order, high-tech crime, and fire and explosion are still complicated. Prices of some essential goods continue to increase, and the lives of some people are still difficult. Many workers have lost their jobs or had their working hours reduced; training, fostering, and support for workers to change careers and find jobs are still limited...

At the conference, delegates focused on analyzing, discussing, pointing out some causes of existing problems, limitations and solutions to overcome them in the coming time. At the same time, there were recommendations and proposals related to party building work, emulation and reward work, etc.

Speaking at the conference, Member of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Vice Chairman of the Central Emulation and Reward Council Nguyen Dinh Khang affirmed: In recent times, emulation and reward work has been promptly implemented by localities in the cluster, in the spirit of closely following the Central's instructions, thereby motivating and encouraging cadres, civil servants and people of all walks of life. From the movements, many typical examples have emerged in all areas of social life, including over 700 collectives and individuals receiving state-level rewards.

Thereby, it contributes significantly to the economic, social, defense, security, party building and political system development of localities. Assessing that the domestic and international situation continues to be complicated, in the coming time, localities in the cluster will closely follow the assigned tasks and widely implement emulation movements launched by the Prime Minister and superiors. Localities in the cluster will continue to replicate advanced examples, good models and creative ways of doing things. Emulation and reward work must be innovative, creative and closely follow local realities. Rewards focus on prioritizing typical examples that have a high impact on society, while creating motivation to contribute to building localities that are increasingly rich, beautiful and civilized, contributing to the industrialization and modernization of the country.

The conference also approved the results of scoring and commendation in 2023 and proposed to award the Government's Emulation Flag to Binh Phuoc province, proposed to award the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit to Ba Ria - Vung Tau province; introduced Binh Thuan province as Cluster Leader, Dong Nai province as Deputy Cluster Leader of the Southeast Provinces Emulation Cluster in 2024. At the same time, signed the emulation agreement in 2024 between the localities in the cluster.
