Ha Nam: Tam Chuc Spring Festival 2025 officially opens

(CLO) On February 9th (the 12th day of the first lunar month of the Year of the Snake 2025), Tam Chuc Pagoda in Kim Bang town ( Ha Nam province) held the opening ceremony of the Tam Chuc Spring Festival 2025 with the theme "Tam Chuc - Sacred Gathering". Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh attended the opening ceremony.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Tam Chuc Spring Festival 2025, Venerable Thich Minh Quang, Deputy Abbot of Tam Chuc Pagoda, said that restoring the Tam Chuc Pagoda Festival on the 12th day of the first lunar month every year is a long-awaited aspiration of the local people and Buddhist followers, and also aims to preserve and promote traditional cultural values.

This contributes to introducing and promoting the cultural values ​​of our homeland, creating opportunities for people and Buddhists from both within and outside the country to visit the Tam Chuc Pagoda spiritual tourism area, a masterpiece of Buddhist architecture in Ha Nam province and Vietnam.

Under the chairmanship of Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and abbot of Tam Chuc Pagoda, the opening ceremony of Tam Chuc Pagoda Festival 2025 took place with rituals of offering incense and praying for national peace and prosperity, favorable weather, and abundant harvests, bringing peaceful lives to the people and humanity.

At the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh presented the "Ha Nam - Asia's Leading Emerging Tourist Destination" award and "Special Achievement" award for 2024 from the World Tourism Awards Organization to Ha Nam province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Nam province, Truong Quoc Huy, emphasized that, in the overall picture of culture and tourism in Ha Nam, Tam Chuc scenic area is a typical, unique heritage site with outstanding value and diverse tourism resources, especially attractive with its advantages in natural landscape as well as cultural value.

With tourism as its key economic sector, Ha Nam province has implemented many comprehensive solutions to effectively exploit its existing potential. From planning and infrastructure investment to promotion and advertising, and organizing national and international events, Ha Nam has become a safe, friendly destination attracting a large number of tourists. In 2024, the province welcomed nearly 4.8 million tourists, with total tourism revenue reaching 3,657 billion VND. Notably, Ha Nam was honored by the World Tourism Awards as "Asia's Leading Emerging Tourist Destination" and awarded the "Special Achievement" prize. This is a testament to the strong and breakthrough development of tourism in Ha Nam.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Nam province also affirmed that, with its synchronized infrastructure, technical facilities, and high-quality services, Tam Chuc Tourist Area is an attractive destination, creating a mark for Ha Nam's tourism industry. The Tam Chuc Spring Festival 2025, with many rich and diverse activities, aims to continue and preserve the beautiful cultural traditions, widely promote the image of the land and people of Ha Nam to a wide range of people, domestic and international tourists, contributing to the preservation and promotion of Ha Nam's cultural heritage values ​​associated with sustainable tourism development. The image of Ha Nam - Tam Chuc is increasingly being elevated, affirming its solid position on the tourism map of Vietnam and the region.

Following the ceremony was a welcoming artistic program consisting of four parts: Tam Chuc - The Glorious Era; Tam Chuc - The Journey of Revival in the Sacred Land; Tam Chuc - The Glory of Heritage; and Springtime on the Land of Buddha.
