At a fan meet-and-greet at Ho Guom Lake (Hanoi) this afternoon (September 9th), when asked why they are investing so heavily in their squad for Asia's top competition, Hanoi FC President Do Vinh Quang said: "We are investing heavily so that we can play our best in the AFC Champions League, fulfilling our responsibility to represent Vietnamese football in the Asian tournament."

Hanoi FC is aware of its responsibility and will strive to deliver the best results and performances for fans in the capital and across the country."

Facing numerous strong teams, most notably the reigning AFC Champions League champions, Urawa Red (Japan), Coach Do Vinh Quang shared his surprise: "To be honest, encountering so many strong opponents, including the reigning champions, is both a source of sadness and joy for Hanoi FC."

"It's not easy to come across one of the strongest teams in Asia like this, so we'll try our best."

In the 2023/24 season, Hanoi FC had the honor and pride of representing Vietnamese football in the AFC Champions League, Asia's most prestigious club competition, competing against some of the continent's strongest teams: Urawa Red (Japan), Pohang Steelers (South Korea), and Wuhan Three Town (China).

Hanoi FC's Group J is considered a "group of death," with very strong opponents. Therefore, Hanoi FC has invested heavily in personnel to strengthen the team. Most recently, after the departure of central defender Bui Hoang Viet Anh, Hanoi FC brought in a foreign player to replace him, Damien Le Tallec.

This is Hanoi FC's sixth foreign player in preparation for the 2023/24 season, especially in preparation for the AFC Champions League. This foreign player has an extremely impressive record, having won the Bundesliga with Dortmund in 2013.

Hanoi FC's participation in the AFC Champions League group stage is seen as a miniature representation of the Vietnamese national team on the continental stage. Their outstanding performances will contribute to elevating Vietnamese football, marking a significant step forward in its development on the Asian and global football map.

Ahead of facing the strongest opponents in Asia, Hanoi FC midfielder Do Hung Dung confidently shared with fans during this afternoon's meet-and-greet: "The number of spots in the AFC Champions League for each country is very limited, so we will try our best to make Vietnamese football proud."

We will have to face very strong opponents, but the whole team is confident that, with the support of a large number of fans in the stadium, Hanoi FC will not be afraid of any opponent at home.

With the support of our fans, whether we're facing the reigning champions, a team from South Korea, or a team from China, we're confident and determined to win. Things will be more difficult away from home, but we'll always try to get at least one or three points."

Present at Hanoi FC's fan meet-and-greet this afternoon at Ho Guom Lake were national team players Van Quyet, Duy Manh, and Tuan Hai. All of them showed high determination for the AFC Champions League.

Hanoi FC's success in the AFC Champions League will boost the development of domestic football, motivate young people to train and strive, and create generations of talented players for Vietnamese football in the future.

As part of the activities to kick off the AFC Champions League 2023/24, in addition to selling tickets, Hanoi Football Club is also organizing other activities such as a meet-and-greet with Hanoi FC President Do Vinh Quang, the coaching staff and players of the capital city's team at the Ho Guom pedestrian street (Hanoi), starting from 9 am on September 9th until the end of September 10th.
