Specifically, last week the city recorded 227 cases of dengue fever, an increase of 37 cases compared to the previous week. Patients were distributed across 27 districts, counties, and towns. Some units with a high number of patients include: Dan Phuong, Ha Dong, Hai Ba Trung, Thach That, Thanh Oai, Nam Tu Liem, Hoang Mai, and Phuc Tho.
In 2024, the city recorded 2,966 cases, a decrease of 71.4% compared to the same period in 2023 (10,372/3).

This week, nine dengue fever outbreaks were recorded in the following districts: Ba Dinh, Dan Phuong, Cau Giay, Hai Ba Trung, Ha Dong, Thanh Oai, and Thach That. Cumulatively from the beginning of the year to date, the entire city has recorded 142 outbreaks, with 18 currently active.
According to the Hanoi CDC, dengue fever is now entering its annual peak season (September to November), with complex and unpredictable weather conditions combined with heavy rainfall creating favorable conditions for the breeding and development of disease-transmitting mosquitoes.
At the same time, monitoring results in some outbreak areas still show high insect indices exceeding the risk threshold, predicting that the number of dengue fever cases will continue to increase in the coming period.
The Hanoi CDC requested that district, county, and town health centers strengthen disease prevention and control measures and ensure environmental hygiene in high-risk areas and areas affected by flooding. They also requested coordination with relevant departments, agencies, and organizations to support and guide people in practicing personal hygiene and environmental sanitation, including cleaning their homes, immediately after the water recedes, ensuring that environmental cleaning is carried out wherever the water recedes; and to organize the spraying of insecticides to kill disease-carrying insects in high-risk areas after environmental cleaning has been completed.
In addition, relevant units are responsible for monitoring, early detection, and thorough and timely handling of cases and outbreaks during and after floods.
