Hanoi Department of Transport Inspectorate said that it is strictly forbidden to use motorized boats to transport passengers, and not allow boats or canoes to sell goods, sing on the street, or beg for money on Yen stream.


To ensure the safety of people going to Huong Pagoda at the beginning of the year, Mr. Bui Ngoc Tan - Captain of the Waterway Traffic Police Team (Hanoi Department of Transport Inspectorate) said that the authorities have inspected nearly 4,000 boats and canoes operating at Huong Pagoda.

As a result, businesses and residents basically complied with traffic safety regulations. However, the Inspectorate will maintain its presence in the Huong Pagoda area until the end of the 2025 festival season.

According to Mr. Bui Ngoc Tan, the unit regularly checks all ferries and boats at Yen wharf for safety conditions, life buoys, floating equipment... not allowing ferries to carry more people than the prescribed number, and not charging more than the prescribed price.

Motorboats that illegally transport passengers, boats that sell goods, and street singers that beg for money on Yen stream are absolutely prohibited. Intentional violators will be dealt with firmly. Motorboats that are not licensed to transport passengers will be immediately pulled out of Yen stream.

This year, "Huong Pagoda Festival - Vietnamese tourist destination, culture and tradition" takes place for 3 months, from February 3 to May 1 (ie from January 6 to April 4, At Ty year).

Mr. Dang Van Canh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of My Duc District, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Huong Pagoda Festival in 2025, said that in order to meet the needs of the people, there are currently nearly 4,000 boats and ferries ready to ensure safety to welcome visitors. On the boats there are sunshades, free drinking water, trash cans... With such a number of boats, Huong Pagoda can welcome about 50,000-60,000 visitors each day.

"It is forecasted that in the 2025 festival season, Huong Pagoda will welcome 1.2 million visitors to visit and worship at the pagoda, an increase of about 40,000 visitors compared to last year. Therefore, ensuring traffic on both roads and waterways is of special concern. The District People's Committee also held a meeting and requested that functional forces coordinate closely to promptly and strictly handle violations," Mr. Canh informed.
