The Hanoi Department of Transport has decided to reorganize traffic on Au Co Street, from the Thang Loi Hotel intersection to the Xuan Dieu intersection (near Quang An flower market), as part of the project to build an overpass at the An Duong - Thanh Nien intersection, in order to reduce traffic congestion.
The Au Co road is nearing completion, making transportation more convenient for residents.
Accordingly, from today (August 20th), vehicles will be allowed to travel in both directions on Au Co Street, including the main road; the local road (5m wide) inside the dike; and the local road (5m wide) outside the dike, from the Thang Loi Hotel intersection to the Xuan Dieu intersection.
Continue to organize one-way traffic for cars on Xuan Dieu road in the direction and section from the intersection with Au Co near Quang An flower market to the intersection with Au Co (near Thang Loi Hotel).
Reportedly, after years of delays, the Au Co - Nghi Tam road expansion project will be opened to traffic in the fourth quarter of 2024.
The project to expand Au Co - Nghi Tam road, from the Thang Loi Hotel intersection to the Nhat Tan Bridge intersection, is 3.7km long (part of the An Duong - Thanh Nien intersection overpass construction project, phase 2). The project has a total investment of 815 billion VND and is managed by the Hanoi Investment and Construction Project Management Board for Transportation Works.
The project was launched in June 2020 and scheduled for completion in 2021, but due to numerous obstacles, it could not be completed on schedule.
Upon completion, the project is expected to alleviate traffic congestion at the An Duong - Thanh Nien intersection, while connecting the area outside the dike to the inner city via the An Duong gateway. The project aims to facilitate quick connections between Ba Dinh district and Noi Bai airport via the Nhat Tan bridge. Simultaneously, it aims to improve connectivity between the area outside the dike and the inner city via the An Duong gateway.
