On December 6, the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board said that in recent days, Hue and Da Nang cities have continued to experience prolonged heavy rain due to the influence of storm No. 15 (storm Koto). At the same time, according to the forecast of the Department of Hydrometeorology, in December 2025, there will be 1-2 more storms in the East Sea and may directly affect the Central and South Central regions, causing heavy rain with the risk of forming a slide arc, causing further landslides on the highway.
Although the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board still arranges people and equipment to monitor and promptly handle the situation, there is still a potential risk of not ensuring safety for people and vehicles if traveling at night. Therefore, to ensure the safety of people and vehicles participating in traffic on the route, the Project Management Board continues to deploy a temporary traffic organization plan on the La Son - Hoa Lien expressway.
Accordingly, for the section Km50+700 - Km50+800, continue to organize the route with 1 lane, arrange traffic control forces on duty 24/24 hours, the remaining sections will operate at a maximum speed of 50km/h. Monitor for about 30 days (from December 6, 2025 to January 6, 2026). After the monitoring period, if the safety conditions are assessed, the route will be opened with 2 lanes at these locations.
The Project Management Board coordinates with the local Traffic Police to regulate, divide traffic, and prohibit passenger cars and trucks with more than 6 axles from traveling on the route. The implementation time starts from 5:00 a.m. on December 6, 2025 to 5:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026, and only allows the remaining vehicles to travel on the route from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. every day. After the above time, an assessment will be made and a plan will be made to reopen the route to normal traffic.
The Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board also informed people and vehicles to proactively choose suitable and safe routes and requested the Traffic Police Department and local police to direct the traffic police force to coordinate in guiding, reminding, and regulating people and vehicles not to enter the above-mentioned routes.
