According to the 2023-2024 school year timetable stipulated by the Hanoi People's Committee, students in preschools, primary schools, junior high schools, and high schools in Hanoi will begin the second semester on January 8, 2024.
Prior to this, schools had conducted the first semester exams, completing tasks related to grading, recording, commenting on, and evaluating students.

According to a preliminary assessment by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, in the first semester of the 2023-2024 school year, teachers and students in schools basically met the objectives of the 2018 General Education Program.
The school's actual conditions regarding teaching staff, facilities, equipment, and students' learning abilities are gradually aligning with the content and requirements of the new curriculum.
In addition to continuing to guide and support educational institutions in successfully completing the school year's tasks and implementing the 2018 General Education Program, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training also directed units to actively prepare and finalize the conditions for implementing the 2018 General Education Program in the three final grades: grades 5, 9, and 12.
The Hanoi Department of Education and Training emphasizes that two fundamental factors will be prioritized in preparation: the teaching staff and teaching equipment.
All teachers participating in teaching under the 2018 General Education Program must receive training before directly teaching in the classroom.
The school year timeframe stipulates that students in the city will complete their second semester's educational plan before May 25, 2024, and finish the school year before May 31, 2024.
