According to the 2023-2024 school year schedule set by the Hanoi People's Committee, students of kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools and high schools in Hanoi will enter the second semester from January 8, 2024.
Before that, schools had conducted the first semester exams, completed the work related to grading, recording, commenting, and evaluating students.

According to the preliminary assessment of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, in the first semester of the 2023-2024 school year, teachers and students of schools basically met the goals of the 2018 General Education Program.
The actual conditions of the school in terms of teaching staff, facilities, equipment and students' ability to absorb are gradually suitable to the content and requirements of the new program.
Along with continuing to direct and accompany educational institutions in successfully completing the school year's tasks and implementing the 2018 General Education Program, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training also directed units to actively prepare and perfect conditions for implementing the 2018 General Education Program in the three final grade levels including grade 5, grade 9 and grade 12.
The Hanoi Department of Education and Training noted that the two basic factors that will be focused on preparation are the teaching staff and teaching equipment.
All teachers participating in teaching under the 2018 General Education Program must be trained before directly teaching in class.
The school year time frame stipulates that city students will complete their second semester education plan before May 25, 2024 and end the school year before May 31, 2024.
