Athletes from Ha Tinh province excellently won 13 medals, ranking 3rd out of 40 teams at the 24th National Youth Karate Championship in 2023.
The 24th National Youth Karate Championship was held in Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province from June 9th to 18th.
Athlete Hoang Thi My Tam won the gold medal at the tournament.
The tournament brought together over 700 athletes across 5 age groups, competing for 97 sets of medals; including 25 sets of medals in performance events and 72 sets of medals in combat events.
Ha Tinh had 15 athletes participating in kumite events and excellently won 13 medals.
Eight athletes won gold medals, including: Le Thi Linh Dan, 44 kg weight category, age group 14-15; Nguyen Thi Ha Giang , 52 kg weight category, age group 12-13; Hoang Thi My Tam, 56 kg weight category, age group 18-22; Le Mai Huyen Trang, over 56 kg weight category, age group 14-15; Le Duy Vu, over 75 kg weight category, age group 16-17; Le Hai Phong, under 45 kg weight category, age group 12-13; Hoang Thi My Phuong, under 52 kg weight category, age group 16-17; Tran Thi Quynh Anh, under 62 kg weight category, age group 18-22.
Two athletes won silver medals: Bui Thi Tam, 40 kg weight category, age group 12-13; and Bui Ngoc Thach, under 60 kg weight category, age group 14-15.
Three athletes won bronze medals: Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh, 56 kg women's category, age 12-13; Tran Thi Hoai Thuong, over 60 kg category, age 16-17; and Nguyen Dinh Viet, under 65 kg category, age 16-17.
The tournament was organized to assess the karate training movement in localities and sectors nationwide, discover new talents, and strengthen the national team to aim for international competitions.
