On the evening of October 24th, Vietnam's number one badminton player Nguyen Hai Dang ( world No. 55) brilliantly defeated Ong Zhen Yi (Malaysia, world No. 154) with a score of 2-1 (21-11, 19-21, 21-15), securing a place in the semi-finals of the Indonesia Masters II 2025 Badminton Tournament – a BWF Super 100 series event.
This is the second time in his career that Hai Dang has reached the semi-finals of a Super 100 tournament of the World Badminton Federation, after the Al Ain Masters 2025 in the UAE. His next opponent is the young Chinese player Dong Tianyao (ranked 118th in the world).
In this tournament, Hai Dang was seeded number 6 and received a wildcard entry directly into the second round. He successively defeated Wongsup Wongsup In (Thailand) with a score of 2-1 and Krishna Adi Nugraha (Indonesia) 2-0 to advance to the semi-finals.

The other semi-final is an Indonesian "internal conflict" between Moh. Zaki Ubaidillah and the seventh seed Prahdiska Bagas Shujiwo.
If both win, Hai Dang will have the opportunity to rematch Shujiwo – the opponent he previously defeated 0-2 (19-21, 8-21) in the quarterfinals of the 2025 Al Ain Masters.
The two men's singles semi-final matches of the Indonesia Masters II are scheduled to take place this afternoon (October 25).
The 2025 Indonesia Masters II tournament has a total prize money of $110,000. By reaching the semi-finals, Hai Dang is guaranteed to receive $1,595 and 3,850 world ranking points. If he advances to the final, the Vietnamese player will have at least $4,180 and 4,680 points.
