Hai Dang entered the semi-finals of the Super 100 badminton tournament for the second time

(NLDO) - Tennis player Nguyen Hai Dang entered the semi-finals of the super 100 tournament for the second consecutive time when he defeated his Malaysian opponent in the quarter-finals of the Indonesia Masters II 2025.

On the evening of October 24, Vietnam's No. 1 badminton player Nguyen Hai Dang (ranked 55th in the world ) excellently defeated Ong Zhen Yi (Malaysia, ranked 154th in the world) with a score of 2-1 (21-11, 19-21, 21-15), winning a ticket to the semi-finals of the Indonesia Masters II 2025 Badminton Tournament - a tournament in the BWF Super 100 system.

This is the second time in his career that Hai Dang has reached the semi-finals of a tournament in the Super 100 group of the Badminton World Federation, after the Al Ain Masters 2025 in the UAE. His next opponent is the young Chinese player Dong Tianyao (ranked 118th in the world).

At this tournament, Hai Dang was seeded number 6 and was given a special pass to the second round. He defeated Wongsup Wongsup In (Thailand) 2-1 and Krishna Adi Nugraha (Indonesia) 2-0 to advance to the round of 4 strongest players.

The other semi-final is an Indonesian "civil war" between Moh. Zaki Ubaidillah and 7th seed Prahdiska Bagas Shujiwo.

If they both win, Hai Dang will have the opportunity to rematch Shujiwo - the opponent who lost to him 0-2 (19-21, 8-21) in the quarter-finals of the Al Ain Masters 2025.

The two men's singles semi-finals of the Indonesia Masters II are scheduled to take place this afternoon (October 25).

The Indonesia Masters II 2025 has a total prize money of 110,000 USD. By reaching the semi-finals, Hai Dang is guaranteed to receive 1,595 USD and 3,850 world ranking points. If he reaches the final, the Vietnamese player will have at least 4,180 USD and 4,680 points.
