According to a representative of the main contractor, CIENCO 4 Corporation, several tunnel sections on the Dinh Cong side of the underpass have been completed, and the retaining wall has been finished.

The access roads to and from the tunnel on the Dinh Cong side are also basically completed.

The tunnel under the Ring Road 2.5 at the Giai Phong intersection has taken shape after more than two years of construction. The project is expected to be completed in 2025.

On October 6, 2022, the Hanoi People's Committee officially commenced construction of the underground tunnel for Ring Road 2.5, passing through the Giai Phong - Kim Dong intersection.

The project has a total investment of over 770 billion VND; the tunnel is 460 meters long, with 4 lanes for motor vehicles, aiming to reduce traffic congestion at the existing intersection and complete the Ring Road 2.5. The project construction period is from 2022 to 2025.

To carry out the project, the investor, the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, and the contractors have recently coordinated with competent authorities to barricade two-thirds of Giai Phong Street and Kim Dong Street, and prohibit many types of vehicles from passing through to implement the project.
