On March 25, South Korean Health and Welfare Minister Cho Gyu-hong stated that, following President Yoon Suk Yeol's directive to handle the administrative handling of trainee doctors with flexibility, the ministry has begun practical steps to consult with political parties to engage in open dialogue with the medical community in order to find a suitable solution to resolve the current impasse.
Speaking at a meeting of the National Disaster Safety and Prevention Committee (CDC) at the Sejong Government Complex, Cho Gyu-hong said that maximum efforts would be made in dialogue and persuasion to quickly end the conflict with the medical community. Authorities will discuss with political parties how to flexibly handle the administrative handling of young doctors resigning in order to minimize disagreements.
