The Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex is a perfect blend of cultural relics and nature. Within this complex, you'll find a landscape painting with numerous valleys and winding rivers, creating a truly unique scene. Among them is the Vu Lam Royal Palace, a series of unique relics that you absolutely cannot miss on your journey to explore the ancient capital of Hoa Lu.
Vu Lam Royal Palace was a military base during the Tran Dynasty, located in the mountainous southern part of the ancient Hoa Lu capital. It is also associated with the event of the Tran kings renouncing their worldly lives to become monks and promote Buddhism. Today, Vu Lam Royal Palace is the core area of the Trang An scenic complex, which is recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
The Vu Lam Royal Palace is situated in a spacious and open area, encompassing numerous historical relics such as the Quan Gate, the Royal Palace, the Dragon Gate, the Tuan Cao Gate, and 24 ancient temples dating back to the Tran Dynasty, including Hai Nham Temple, Bich Dong Temple, Da Temple, Linh Coc Temple, San Temple, Thong Temple, and So Temple.
Visiting Vu Lam Royal Palace, you will admire an ancient house that still stands today, dating back to before 1954, with a minimalist and unpretentious design. Many artifacts of immense historical value are preserved here, serving as evidence and reenactments of a prosperous feudal era in Vietnam, as well as the glorious victories of our ancestors in resisting foreign invaders. Every spring, people from all over gather at Vu Lam Palace to worship Buddha and enjoy the scenery, to remember the kings of the nation, and to pray for good fortune and peace.
To fully appreciate the natural beauty of Ninh Binh, you should rent a boat and explore the mysterious areas within the historical site. Upon arriving at Vu Lam Royal Palace, you will be amazed by the incredibly poetic and majestic scenery, reflecting the passage of time and the many ups and downs of history that have allowed it to survive to this day. Indeed, this place is a priceless gift and treasure of the Vietnamese nation.
Viewed from above, the architectural structures nestle gracefully against the backdrop of the verdant mountain ranges. Wooden boats, scattered amidst this natural landscape, create a refined and elaborate beauty.
