"Sow love" in everyday life
At the age of 72, when many people are enjoying their old age, Ms. Nguyen Thi Chien, Head of Women's Association No. 50 (Hoa Cuong Ward) still continuously contributes to the community with simple but meaningful actions.
For many years, Ms. Chien has persistently maintained "Chien Nguyen's Zero-Dong Kitchen", organizing cooking and distributing hundreds of free meals to people in difficult circumstances every Saturday (or 2-3 times a month depending on the budget).
From early morning, Ms. Chien and her members and volunteers were busy preparing hundreds of free meals to send to the poor, homeless and patients in difficult circumstances. Each meal was a heart - nurtured by the love and sharing of a woman in her seventies.
Not only that, she is also a “bridge” between philanthropists and the unfortunate. She proactively calls on organizations, individuals, and businesses to join hands to help the poor, support disadvantaged students, and give gifts to policy families and single households in residential areas.
Faced with the damage caused by storm No. 10 (Bualoi) to the people of the Northern provinces recently, Ms. Chien called for and acted as the focal point for gathering food to bring to Thai Nguyen province for relief, cooking thousands of meals for the affected people.

With her knowledge and experience working in the medical industry for many years, Ms. Chien also participates in free acupuncture for patients every Monday.
“I feel happy, especially when I feel younger and healthier when helping the disadvantaged and less fortunate. I will continue these activities as long as I can, just hoping to bring small joys to the less fortunate,” Ms. Chien shared.
With her persistent contributions, Ms. Nguyen Thi Chien was honored as a typical volunteer model nationwide in 2024. This is not only a worthy recognition for her, but also a source of pride for the local women's movement, contributing to spreading humane and affectionate values in the community.
Live beautifully and live green
For over 7 years, the image of Ms. Le Thi Sinh, Head of Women's Association No. 42 (Cam Le Ward) diligently pushing a cart to collect recyclable waste along small alleys has become familiar to local people. These carts are not like normal scrap carts, because they are filled with hope and love for the less fortunate.
From the initiative of “trash into love”, Ms. Sinh mobilized members and residents to sort trash at the source, collect plastic bottles, beer cans, and scrap paper to raise funds to support orphans, single women, and poor households. On average, each year, this activity brings in about 5 million VND, which she uses to buy gifts and necessities, and hand them to those in difficult circumstances in the neighborhood.

With the characteristics of a residential area with many alleys and small lanes, Ms. Sinh designed and created compact recycling collection vehicles to easily go to each house to mobilize and collect scrap. Her creative and practical way of doing things quickly spread and was approved and responded by the people.
“This truck not only carries scrap, but also carries my heart and the hearts of those who want to contribute a little love to life. Collecting recyclable waste will bring more money to the fund, and the residential area will be cleaner, everyone will be happy,” Ms. Sinh shared.

From a seemingly small job, Ms. Sinh has aroused the spirit of environmental protection associated with community compassion, helping each citizen realize that love can start from the simplest things. Many members and citizens voluntarily join her, creating a green, clean and humane waste collection network.
The example of Ms. Le Thi Sinh is a vivid proof of the image of today's women - living green, living beautifully and living meaningfully. At the same time, turning the ordinary job of collecting garbage into a beautiful journey: a journey of sowing seeds of charity, nurturing hope and keeping life greener and warmer.
