(Dan Tri Newspaper) - A highlight of the Indian billionaire's delegation of 4,500 guests visiting Vietnam was the Gala Awards night and electronic music nights at three of Hanoi's most luxurious hotels.
Starting on August 27th, a group of 4,500 guests from Sun Pharmaceutical, a pharmaceutical company owned by an Indian billionaire, began arriving in Hanoi . They split into several smaller groups, arriving in Hanoi on different days, staying in high-end hotels, and embarking on a Hanoi-Ninh Binh-Ha Long itinerary. According to sources from Dan Tri newspaper, each group's program lasts 5 days and 4 nights, with no overnight stays in Ninh Binh or Ha Long. They will spend all four nights in Hanoi organizing entertainment activities and an awards gala. The same source also reported that the 4,500 employees flew to Vietnam from various countries, primarily India. VietnamEvents, a Vietnamese event and media company, is reportedly organizing the series of events honoring and thanking the Indian billionaire's delegation. According to Jackie Han, Director of VietnamEvents, the 4,500 Indian guests will participate in 11 entertainment and awards ceremonies and 5 DJ electronic music nights. Due to the large number of guests from various countries, primarily India, they will be divided into groups and will attend events at three hotels: JW Marriott Hotel Hanoi, InterContinental Hanoi Landmark 72, and Melía Hanoi. The first event will take place on the evening of August 29th. The highlight of the event will be the Gala Awards nights honoring the achievements of Sun Pharmaceutical and its outstanding members. "We received information about working with the delegation five months ago. Due to the large number of guests, they made several special requests, namely ensuring that every guest could participate in the Gala Awards ceremony," said Jackie. However, the current facilities for banquet halls and conference rooms in Hanoi, and Vietnam in general, cannot meet the requirements of a 4,500-guest delegation. Therefore, VietnamEvents advised that the Gala Awards could be held simultaneously at different hotels, rotating among the guests and dividing them into larger groups to participate in the program. "Guests can go on a tour in the morning and attend the Gala Awards in the afternoon, or vice versa," said Jackie. The delegation also made several stringent demands regarding the Gala night, such as ensuring that the stage design, sound quality, lighting, and screens at different hotel locations were completely identical to guarantee fairness and formality for all attending staff.

Mr. Santiago Cabre, General Manager of Melía Hanoi Hotel, said the hotel will host three of the six Indian delegations, with approximately 300 rooms and five Gala Awards parties taking place there. The "Grand Ballroom" – where the Gala Awards for the delegations will be held – has a capacity of over 1,000 people. "Serving the Indian delegations is perhaps the most challenging aspect, ensuring their culinary requirements are met, given their diverse dietary needs based on religion and beliefs," Mr. Cabre stated. According to Mr. Cabre, Indian cuisine is characterized by its rich and complex use of spices. Their diets vary depending on their religion and beliefs, such as abstaining from beef, pork, eggs, and root vegetables. Their main dishes consist of beans, lentils, vegetables, fruits, rice, and breads like roti and naan. The food is prepared with a wide variety of spices and herbs. "To ensure the group enjoys authentic local flavors, we invited an Indian chef to serve them alongside the hotel's culinary team throughout their stay. Furthermore, security and food safety are always prioritized," a hotel representative stated.

The challenge of organizing an event for the Indian billionaire's delegation.
"Thanks to our extensive experience in event organization and serving large groups of clients, we didn't encounter many difficulties in developing the plan and scheduling for Sun Pharmaceutical's event," emphasized Mr. Jackie Han. Since receiving the client's request, the team has been developing the concept and planning the event, from space decoration and reception programs to performances. The team hopes the program will incorporate elements of Indian culture while also showcasing the unique cultural characteristics of Vietnam. "I believe this is precisely what led the client to choose Vietnam as the destination for this meaningful commemorative event," affirmed the Director of VietnamEvents. Throughout the implementation process, the team worked closely with the client to develop the most optimal and thorough plan, ensuring a smooth and successful event. The program took place simultaneously at three hotels, so it not only required a large amount of equipment and personnel, but also demanded very smooth and meticulous operation and coordination. According to Mr. Jackie, this is not the first time Indian billionaires have chosen Vietnam as a destination for tourism, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) and weddings. However, this is the largest group ever. Mr. Jackie believes that the Indian billionaire bringing 4,500 employees to Vietnam not only demonstrates the interest of Indian tourists in Vietnamese tourism but also reflects the results of tourism promotion efforts by ministries and agencies in the Indian market. At the same time, the event showcases the ability of Vietnamese travel agencies, event organizers, and other service providers to deliver large-scale, high-class services. "Furthermore, the visit of the Indian billionaire and his 4,500 employees affirms Vietnam's position as one of the ideal destinations on the map for tourism, MICE, and weddings," a representative from VietnamEvents stated. According to this agency, India is a large market with a tendency towards group travel combined with conferences and events. They are also customers who enjoy shopping and using entertainment facilities. This is a developing market with great potential for Vietnam's tourism industry. "We have organized many events and weddings for Indian clients. The events mainly consist of customer conferences, awards ceremonies, and award presentations combined with tourism, entertainment, and shopping," said Mr. Jackie. VietnamEvents has also organized six large weddings for billionaire families in Ha Long (January, February 2023 and January, February 2024) and Da Nang (January 2023 and January 2024). Two of these were extravagant weddings with numerous ceremonies and events lasting three days and nights. The wedding in January 2023 in Ha Long Bay, with over 750 guests, marked the largest Indian wedding ever held in Vietnam. The wedding took place in February 2023 with over 550 guests. "We hope to provide memorable and impressive experiences for the outstanding members of Sun Pharmaceutical," said Jackie.
