Hien Thanh determined to achieve advanced new rural commune standards

Implementing the plan to achieve advanced new rural standards in 2024, from the beginning of the year, the Party Committee, government and people of Hien Thanh commune, Vinh Linh district have actively deployed activities with the spirit of determination to strive to reach the goal of achieving advanced new rural standards according to the set plan.

Determining that the construction of an advanced new-style rural commune is a positive contribution to the process of changing the face of the homeland, improving the material and spiritual life of the people. Therefore, Hien Thanh commune has proactively reviewed the criteria and targets to propose specific and effective implementation solutions. In particular, the locality has assigned specific responsibilities to each member of the management board in charge of monitoring and urging each criterion, ensuring that the criteria are completed with the prescribed quality and time.

"In 2024, we will complete and improve the quality of the criteria for communes meeting NTM standards, striving to achieve 19/19 advanced NTM criteria by the end of the year; 7/10 villages meeting the standards of model NTM villages; and average income per capita reaching 55 million VND/person/year," said Chairman of the People's Committee of Hien Thanh Commune, Le Duc Kiem.

According to the local review results, up to now, Hien Thanh has 14/19 criteria that meet the advanced NTM standards; 5 criteria that have not met the standards include planning; cultural facilities; production organization and rural economic development; environment; quality of life. In addition to directing the improvement of the quality of the achieved criteria, the local government has a specific roadmap for the unmet criteria, and at the same time assigned specific tasks to the members of the Management Board in charge of implementation. At the same time, a specific time frame has been set to complete each different target and criterion.

For example, for criterion 6 - Cultural facilities, the locality will continue to mobilize villages to complete the installation of outdoor sports equipment in public places. Along with that, develop a plan to protect, restore, embellish and promote local cultural heritages. Build 10 villages that meet cultural standards according to regulations...

Or to implement criterion 13 - Organizing production and developing rural economy, Hien Thanh commune will build a product consumption linkage model to increase product value and long-term stability. At the same time, replicate high-tech economic models, agricultural models applying mechanization in stages, linking value chains associated with ensuring food safety to bring high economic efficiency to increase income for people, stabilize the local economy. Along with that, the locality will propose to issue concentrated raw material area codes for pepper products; set up a fanpage to promote the image of tourist destinations, events and activities of the commune.

Determining environmental criteria contributes to changing the face of the countryside, creating a green - clean - beautiful countryside. Therefore, Hien Thanh commune always cares and attaches importance to protecting and improving the quality of the environment. To complete the environmental criteria, the locality has developed plans, declared livestock, organized inspections of business establishments, services, livestock, poultry, aquaculture to ensure regulations on veterinary hygiene, livestock and environmental protection.

At the same time, build a model for classifying solid waste at source and a model for recycling organic waste and agricultural by-products into raw materials, fuels and environmentally friendly products. Continue to propagate and mobilize people to collect garbage, hazardous solid waste and plastic waste at the right time and in the right place.

“To contribute to the completion of the program of building advanced new rural areas, we also assigned specific tasks to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune and commune-level organizations to continue to organize propaganda and mobilize people to participate in building advanced new rural criteria for each household and person, first of all, the criteria that have a direct impact on the production and daily life of the people. At the same time, organize the cleaning of village roads and alleys to be green, clean and beautiful. Mobilize people to classify waste at source; collect and gather waste at the right time and in the right place”, Mr. Le Duc Kiem added.

Specifically assigning tasks to the Women's Union to organize planting and taking care of flower streets appropriately. Periodically cleaning village roads and alleys once a month. Building models for classifying household waste and solid waste at source; models for recycling organic waste and agricultural by-products. The Farmers' Union propagates and mobilizes villages to build at least 1 model garden/village for villages that have not been recognized as model gardens to maintain and improve the criteria for model new rural areas.

The Veterans Association organized the cleaning of the "Grandfather and Grandson Care Together" roads; trees along the commune's main roads were trimmed neatly to suit the characteristics of the countryside, without any activities that cause environmental pollution. The Youth Union organized the planting and care of youth flower roads; cleaned the self-managed roads and the "Grandfather and Grandson Care Together" roads; promoted the image of the commune's tourist attractions through internet applications and social networks; cared for and cleaned the memorial stele and martyrs' cemetery.

Villages organize propaganda activities to mobilize the active participation of all classes of people in the movement to build advanced new rural areas associated with sustainable poverty reduction. Build, maintain and improve the criteria of model villages; organize cleaning of village roads and alleys; green hedges are trimmed neatly to suit the characteristics of the countryside. Launch a monthly general cleaning of the entire village, ensuring that village roads and alleys are green, clean and beautiful; there are no activities that cause environmental pollution. Propaganda and mobilize people to collect and store waste in accordance with regulations.

With the continuous efforts of the entire political system and the consensus of the people, we believe that the journey of building an advanced new-style rural commune in Hien Thanh will come true by the end of 2024.
