Coach Frank de Boer is expected to lead the Indonesian team.

(Dan Tri) - After parting ways with coach Patrick Kluivert, it is highly likely that the Indonesian national team will continue to pursue Dutch coaches. The latest person mentioned is former player Frank de Boer.

The head of the Indonesian national team's coach selection department, Simon Tahamata, has been in contact with former Dutch midfielder Frank de Boer. This morning (October 20), a photo of Simon Tahamata meeting Frank de Boer appeared on social media in Indonesia.

They were very friendly when talking to each other. Simon Tahamata even gave Mr. Frank de Boer a tight hug, as if the two sides had just reached some big agreement. This sparked the news that Frank de Boer would lead the Indonesian team in the near future, replacing the recently fired coach Patrick Kluivert.

Notably, Mr. Frank de Boer (55 years old this year) was a teammate of coach Patrick Kluivert in the Dutch national team and the famous Ajax Amsterdam club (Netherlands). As players, they won the 1995 UEFA Champions League together, in the Ajax shirt, and reached the semi-finals of the 1998 World Cup with the Dutch national team.

In his coaching career, Mr. Frank de Boer is considered to have more experience and achievements than his compatriot Kluivert.

Coach Frank de Boer won the Dutch national championship four times with Ajax Amsterdam in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. After leading Ajax from 2010 to 2016, Coach Frank de Boer led Inter Milan (Italy) in 2016, Crystal Palace (England) in 2017, Atlanta United (USA) from 2018 to 2020.

From 2020 to 2021, coach Frank de Boer led the Netherlands national team, participating in Euro 2020. After losing to the Czech Republic in the round of 16 of Euro 2020 (actually taking place in 2021), Mr. Frank de Boer decided to part ways with the Netherlands national team.

In 2023, coach Frank de Boer leads the UAE club Al Jazira. This 55-year-old coach has experience working from Europe, America to Asia.

Currently, the Indonesian team still pays attention to Dutch coaches, because the team's force consists mostly of naturalized players of Dutch origin.
