Defeating U22 Malaysia 2-0, U22 Vietnam advanced to the semi-finals of the SEA Games 33 as group winners. Commenting on the match, coach Kim Sang Sik said: "I am very happy that U22 Vietnam won today to advance to the semi-finals as group winners. This result was achieved thanks to all the players giving their all on the field, as well as the enthusiastic support from Vietnamese fans. I hope that even more fans will show up in U22 Vietnam's upcoming matches."

The U22 Vietnam team seemed to have a difficult match against U22 Malaysia, but they won easily. Coach Kim Sang Sik said: "We analyzed the opponent very carefully through meetings with the players and coaching staff, and from that, we prepared well in training and tactics."

With Vietnam U22 topping Group B and facing the Philippines U22 in the semi-finals, coach Kim Sang Sik commented: "First of all, I must affirm that no matter who we face, we are aiming for victory. After this match, Vietnam U22 needs to analyze the opponent more thoroughly to prepare well for the semi-final. The Philippines U22 played earlier, so they had more time to recover. I am focusing on helping our players recover as best as possible before the semi-final."

We hope to reach the final so we can return to the Rajamangala Stadium, where the Vietnamese national team won the ASEAN Cup earlier this year."

We attended the opening ceremony together, and I personally sent a message of encouragement to Head Coach Mai Duc Chung. We will definitely try our best to protect the pride and honor of the Vietnamese team. I also hope the women's team will play their best so that both teams can advance to the final."
